that... doesn't make sense. how would who we intend to take at pick 6 possibly affect GWS who were looking to trade up?
That's why I said who knows? It might have affected their selection list order they had if we selected a different player so if we don't select McAsey which mean everyone draft order moves up and they can't match the bid for Tom Green who they selected with their pick 10.

Bays kicked 10 goals in the last quarter to win from a huge deficit.

Think Maynard kicked the winner.
My mistake it was Jim West kicking the winner. Maynard kicked the 2nd last goal.

Have we ever belted an SANFL team?

How many times have been in a position to belt an SANFL team then lose?

You are clutching big time.

Players want to put up performances that see them get a game in the As, they aren’t going easy as part of some master plan.

And we’ve had a pretty shit side for most of our history so that explains your questions.

I have my doubts too, doesn't win enough hard ball, unless he picks up that element of his game he'll struggle.

He won a LOT of hard ball today. He’s had a consistently good year, and at this stage looks a better option than Sloane

Nah he really didn't, puts too much time into his opponent instead of attacking the contest for the ball. Boyle was ordinary today but he wins the hard ball way more than Hately. Vanilla is Hately I'm afraid, very little real hurt factor.

He is basically an honest hacker.
He gets a lot of ball, but has zero skill. His disposal, apart from the occasional decent shot for goal, is awful.
He should never be involved in our overlapping handball chains. I think he did one non-hospital handball all day.

The 3 best mids on the ground were all Glenelg Brett Turner, Luke Partington and Matthew Snook and by a good margin, roved better to Strachan's taps than any of our mids.

I hope Nathan Freeman was just rusty because he did sfa as well.

Great first half. The wind wasn't really that strong and so it was strange to see so many goals to the northern end
In that 3rd qtr, our midfield totally disappeared.
Shoey was terrible
It was an incredibly poor effort. The backline didn't stand a chance
Parnell and Strauchny played well, Newchurch some cameo's
The coaches are playing Fog out of a forward pocket and are wasting him now as a role player. He still works his butt off though and finds space but they rarely use him.
Almost looks like he has been told to stay out of Thilthorpes way.
Looks like he has lost all hope and is just going through the motions now that the coaches have never shown much faith in him.

Went to glenelg oval today - honestly, we werent great at all (hard to believe right…), but my god the umpiring was appalling. One instance stands out..Pedlar throw the ball on the wing in front of the members…Umpire made the “right call”, but he called it from 50m away and could not have possibly seen it (there were like 6 people next to him..and ump was behind his back). Literally just went off the crowd screamed. So many instances of arm jobs that werent there, blocking, holding the ball etc where the glenelg player was swung around 480 and dropped it. No excuse, but my god they got a rough ride..

First half was impressive with the run and handball.
It looked slick with the fast movement and gave our forwards time to find space
Looks like it was an instruction today as they always gave a handpass off after a mark

Parnell was our best and plays with the polish pace and skill we need

Newchurch has improved this year and kicked 3. He is developing his Defensive game and staying more involved for more of the game

Strauchnie started well but like all of our players had a brain fade in the third

Skill errors cost is badly by hand and foot and we could not simply get ball out of centre after half time

Fog does not know how to play his position. He no longer leads and just wants to push and shove his opponent when going for a mark. I can tell you it’s notworking

Mcasey poor. Milera poor. davis
Brain fade city.

Thilthorpe great first qr.

No night games at Glenelg. Lights are not good enough

I understand what you are saying.

But as a club, where is our killer instinct.

There is a definite attitude of treating SANFL games like training drills.

I am not saying we tank. Just an underlying attitude of winning is secondary. No enjoyment in finishing off a team.

We should have won by 10 goals today.

Also interesting - when we're dominating the 2nd quarter, there was maybe 20 posts in this thread.

When Glenelg starts to dominate, there's probably 150 posts.

I'm not sure what that means.
Everyone loves a train crash.

Was Thilthorpe good enough to get back in the best 22?
That would depend solely on Himmelberg's game tomorrow IMO.

If Himmelberg stinks it up only then should Thilly come into consideration.

One things for sure Fogarty isn't under any consideration at all, all he wants to do his wrestle his opponent, no leads, no movement, it's becoming clear he's just a dumb footballer I'm afraid. Why he can't work out that he needs to get on his bike and present front and centre is baffling.

Not one player has knocked the door down for next week.

Strachan won a lot of taps, a lot directly to Bays players
Parnell clearly our best early, getting closer to AFL
Fogarty awful even in the first half
Hately plenty of nothing disposals
Schoenberg kicking still shit
Thilthorpe after a good 1st quarter gone missing'
McAsey poor poor game
Worrell some good some bad
Milera a mile off it
Ben Davis absolute crap
Pedlar still getting limited midfield opportunities
Hamill some good, mostly ordinary
Newchurch again handy but is he ready for AFL? Doubt it.
Nankervis untidy by foot, shown glimpses
Murray probably our best defender but untidy by foot
Soligo hasn't been too bad but not good enough to get an upgrade
Borlase some good some bad

Parnell was probably our most exciting early, but he struggled a bit after being asked to mark a bigger player.

Don’t agree at all with the Hateley assessment, thought he was excellent today, but Thilthorpe is a weird one.

Scores 4 goals but managed to show exactly why he’s not banging the door down to get selected.

He’s looking REALLY one dimensional at the moment. Long ball in, work opposition player under the ball, kick goal. This is all well and good if the ball is coming in there a lot, like it was in the 1st half, but he has a real inability to work himself up the ground, and into the game when the supply isn’t there.

Fogarty was hopeless. Schoenberg showed more of the poor disposal and lack of awareness that got him dropped.

And what on earth is going on with the development of Luke Pedlar?

Parnell looks better down back imo. We need composure and good kicking out of our backline. Looks like a young Jayden Short out there. Leading disposal getter with 15. Strachnie the other standout along with Thilthorpe. Most of the team is playing pretty good.

Yeah, Parnell has been one of my favourite prospects at the club since we've drafted him (despite having the body of a 13 year old at the time). Just a super classy little player who rarely makes a mistake and (which is rather rare for a skinny outside player) isn't lacking in the bravery part of things.

I haven't watch the game (yet), but I was also pretty happy to see Newchurch do well on the stats side of things. He's deserved it after his last fortnight.
