he'd be our quickest player
Carmicheal? that's why I want him, broke away from the center stoppage with a real burst yesterday. If your talking Crouch then thats troubling. I highly doubt we're looking at him in msd anyway, we wouldn't want to disrupt the precious sanfl.

Absolutely only shining light in a bleak year at West.
Really good player who keeps producing every game.hie

Maybe but looking at yesterday's Young Guns vs Vic Metro I'll be very surprised if Jai Culley and Nick Ramsden aren't high on those clubs with a free list spots.

I think the most likely SANFL player to be picked up is athletic high marking former GWS Academy/ Rooster Jacob Baeur.

Dandenong Stingrays Jai Culley would suit us fine, a tall 193cm inside ball winning mid/forward with a booming kick, everything we'd hoped Hately would be but unfortunately that's not looking so great currently.
He seems to be in their best every week, how did our former academy kid Gore go, seems to have kicked a few since he moved south

I'd like to say good, started out well but has dropped off a bit. In a team that is struggling and starting to blood a lot of youngsters.
He's a good player but I thought he would have had a bigger impact.
Good pace but not consistent enough, he could tear up a game, the talent is there.

Nathan Freeman is leaving our SANFL team to go back to Victoria for work reasons

Probably realised he wasn’t playing well enough to get an MSD gig with us
We are allowed one "marquee" player aren't we?

Do a Lachie Murphy with maybe a list spot chance and bring in a 19 year old that misses out in the MSD.

I've got a couple of names in mind...;)

I must say he didn't overly impress at SANFL level like I expected...not enough anyway to suggest he'd make a significant difference going forward.

I thought we would pick him up in msd but after watching him this doesn't surprise me. He needed to be dominating to get a contract which he wasn't in what I saw. I'd be shocked if a club wasted a pick on him with his injury history. Even the statement said he was going back for work commitments. More or less admitting his AFL chance is gone

Stupid decision ....understand the Crows may have not picked him up ....but other clubs may have

Done his dash now, as far as an AFL career .....he won't say he's disappointed, but he wanted it badly enough, to come to Sth Aust .....hope he's makes better player management decisions

Nah, at age 26 he was not showing enough to have any team take him in preference to a youngster, and his body still wasn't showing signs of durability.

IMO a good common sense life decision.

He absolutely killed it in the VFL last year and didn't get picked up by any of the other 17 clubs in the MSD, ND, PSD, RD or SSP.

Hardly setting the world on fire in four games in the SANFL so it shouldn't be earth shattering news that we aren't going for him.
Would rather we look at another KPD/Ruck prospect anyways at this stage. Our depth/developing players in these areas are very thin/not enticing.

Suspect he’s got enough irons in the fire with player agents to know he was already no chance

Decided to give it one final roll of the dice, knowing we had needs, and it didn’t work.

I reckon not flogging the dead horse is a sign of a mature kid making good decisions

Id prefer to trade in a KPD/Ruck, it's too late to sink 2 to 3 years development into an 18yo when we need one now. Just get the chequebook out and be done with it. Melbourne brought in Lever and May, Hawks brought in Gibson and Lake for their premiership run.

I don't think his body has ever held up to the rigours of AFL football.
