The team labelled "flat track bullies" and "cant win away from home" just took an injury-depleted side to Adelaide and beat the Power's best 22 with accurate goal kicking. Was it considered a gutsy effort by the underdog? A heartfelt performance from a team usually derided for lacking heart?

Nah. Umps won the game for West Coast. Even though the Eagles lost the free kick count and Port dominated the inside 50's but failed to convert their chances, it was the umpire conspiracy that ensured Port didnt get the chocolates today.

Can't believe Port thought that the long bomb into the forward line would work in the last quarter after it had failed dismally for the first 3/4 quarters. That was a very good win on the road by the Eagles, they sure love playing at AO

And 70 less possessions and also being out-tackled says that you hung on with a fair slice of luck.
And 9 less clearances.
And 5 less scoring shots.
And 8 more clangers despite getting far less of the ball.
All suggest a very very big slice of luck.

Gutsy win by the underdogs away from home against the healthiest list in the comp. Still got Lycett, Duggan, Cripps and Nelson to come back in over the next few weeks, and possibly naitanui by the end of the year. Watson and Rioli would also arguably be in the 22 if they weren't injured at the moment, so plenty of improvement left in this team, good signs.

No - just lack skill

Kicking at goal is a skill like clearances and hitting targets around the ground

Poor kicking is poor football and port were poor

or when the Eagles scramble a point and Roo is all gleeful letting everyone know that it's an important point because the WC were only 7 points up before it....
