first choice regulars that would walk into essendon's side
Those 5 or 6? Yeah probably.

The middle of the road scrubs that make up the rest of the injury list?

Nah.

Scrubs? Gibcus, M Rioli and Ross too more than 5 or 6.
Gibcus has played 20 borderline average games, Rioli is a small forward that doesn't hit the scoreboard and every side has their serviceable battlers like Ross.

Looking at the Tigers injury list, and yes by number it’s large, but there’s ‘only’ like 5-6 first choice regulars on it and not currently playing. Like arguably nearly other club in the competition.

The rest is full of inexperienced mid-range players who are either untried or haven’t given them much in their careers so far.

Lynch? Taranto? Hopper? Graham? Yeah sure. Granted. Sounds like Grimes and Baker are right to go this week. But the rest? Really?

They will clearly come out in their home Dreamtime game this week and show a lot more than they have in the past 4 games combined.

this is a dumb post sorry

Richmond can barely field a side. Probably top 3 worst injury crisis in the last 15 years.

I think Essendon will only win by about 25 points though. Never really smash teams so I don't expect anything different.

Disagree. They beat Sydney and pushed Carlton early in the year so their 22 isn't bad. The problem is, when even depth players are not available, it is digging far too deep. A Gibcus-type player who is best 22 is far better than whatever they are running with now.

Looking like a big loss coming up yet again but I will be there cheering for our Tigers.

There's 18 on the injury list today, 9-10 are probably best 22, the others are comprised of some of the guys that would be next in line if fit, so it tests our depth even further as we're into 3rd or 4th string positional choices.

Not to mention, there's been guys injured earlier in the year not listed, and when guys have come back they're recovering from injury so probably not at their peak and haven't had any game continuity or match fitness.

It's a disaster at the moment, and several of the injuries are critical roles that we can't replace adequately.

Anyway, it's pretty well documented, we won't win games with this injury list, bar maybe North Melbourne and that would be 50/50 right now.

Essendon will win, they say they don't really smash teams but this is a rare opportunity, probably Bombers by 30-80 is a reasonable prediction.

When injury lists get this long, the quality of those out matters less and less.

At the end of the day, they're playing (almost) every player who is fit, so the replacements are scraping the bottom of the barrel and often being played out of position or in roles they're unfamiliar with.

Losing the 19th best player in the team mightn't seem like much, but when you're replacing them with the 39th it's still a big hit.

lol 30-80 not exactly a dialed in prediction.

We havent a smashed a team in a very long time, we need the % though, so hopefully we can put a big number up.

Not really. Adelaide and Brisbane appear to be doing all they can to avoid the 8.

Apart from Essendon winning, it's a hard margin to predict. Tigers might have a competitive response and keep it relatively close before the Bombers kick away a bit in the last to win by a handful of goals, or just as easily I could see the Bombers playing really good footy and just destroying an out of form undermanned side, which is what's happened to us the last couple of weeks.

Anything in between is possible too, hence the vague margin.

we only beat North by 40 but we were insipid for 3/4 qtrs.

Id love a big win to boost the %, but dont think we have it in us!
