Umpire on 360 this week talking about holding the ball. He said there's 3 components. 1. Is the tackle legal. 2. Did they have prior. And 3. Did the player attempt to get rid of the ball. If they make an attempt to get rid of it and don't make contact with hand or foot that's not a free kick. Wtf. So there's literally no incorrect disposal anymore. Or this year atleast.

Are you deliberately misinterpreting what was said?

Genuine attempt is enough with no prior.

Incorrect disposal only applies when a player has prior, this has been the interpretation for decades.

50 was there because umpire blew the whistle about 4 times and the Melbourne players were still kicking for goal ignoring the direction. It is 50 metres any day.
