MVP AFL 2nd Qualifying Final votes - Geelong v St Kilda

Already awarded I know, but just for argument's sake:

5. Bartel-one of the best wet weather footballers I have ever seen
4. Ablett-don't understand why some think he had a poor game tonight. Did plenty.
3. Linga-definitely not finished
2. Chappy-anyone else would have been finished for the night after that hospital handball-worked hard and great goal in the last.
1. Stokes-was great as a small forward and shutting Gilbert out of it, pity he missed that goal in the last.

Kelly, Varcoe and Enright were reasonably useful.

Hunt was poor, as was Scarlett in the first quarter and improved after that. Taylor was soundly beaten and Selwood had a poor game. Hawkins and Blake had little influence.

HM: Deadweight (Blake, Hawkins, Mackie), Stokes missed set shot, again just uncharacteritically not up for the intensity early in a big game.

About right, except put the umpiring decision last, the others were far more significant in the scheme of things.

Mackie and Blake needed to do a lot more very poor game by both.

Thought Hawk actually had an alright game took marks when needed.

You could add in Ablett getting tackled with 1 hand when they hadn't paid it for the whole night.

I thought that was fair enough. He had prior opportunity obviously, and dropped the ball whilst Gilbert had a hand on him. By the letter of the law it is holding the ball. It's like when you try and bounce and someone is tackling you, doesn't matter if it is with 1 finger it is still holding the ball.
