Not sure if there is another thread on this but currently on the afl site there is the best of the NAB draft picks of all time. The player at pick 6 was James Walker who i believe has just been delisted after this season who played for fremantle. This is the best pick 6 of all time? I hope our pick 6 will not succumb to this fate, surely we can find a gem and make this pick our own!

Who cares! We will get one of palmer, masten and ebert! we can't lose! touch wood!
Very good draft if we get one of them, then collier/maric and then daniher!

No.6 Pick is cursed I tell you...

Walker the best player picked at 6...you got to be kidding. And to think Bradley went at the same pick, OMG.

They do, also interesting to note, we have picked up our fair share of pick 6's, already mentioned kep, and damian cupido was also a pick 6 that flopped, ashley sampi was also a pick 6.... not that we will pick him up

Clearly Allen Jakovich was the best at number 6... by and ABSOLUTE mile!

With only 54 games, it would be hard to justify a 6th pick on anyone. The high goals-per-match shouldn't count for much either given he only played 2 1/2 seasons (total games).

Hopefully our Mr. 666 will blow the likes of AJ out of the water without much hassle.

This just makes me more excited about the draft. Theres bound to be a good pick 6 sooner rather than later, surely.
Lets hope so..

On another note, thank God we have pick 23 and not 22!:D

23 – MICHAEL LONG (ESSENDON)
Recruited from: St Marys (1988)
One of the great all-time indigenous players, Long was an outstanding midfielder for the Bombers, playing 190 matches from 1989-2001, including the 1993 and 2000 premierships and the Norm Smith Medal in '93. Drew Petrie (Kangaroos – 2000) is next best, with 131 matches since 2001. Sean Rusling (Collingwood – 2004) looms as a fine prospect, although injuries have restricted his career so far.
22 – ALISTAIR NICHOLSON (MELBOURNE)
Recruited from: Claremont (1996)
The best No.22 was a tough call between Nicholson and Mark Seaby (West Coast – 2001). Although he had his critics, Nicholson (110 games from 1997-2005) was an integral part of Melbourne's defence, while Seaby (83 games) has so far spent most of his time as the club's No.2 ruckman. Kieran Sporn played 72 of his 84 AFL matches after being picked up by Essendon in 1986.

Mitch Thorp will change things :)

Goodluck i'm sure there is a good player to be had at #6, much easier than picking one at #12.

Certainly wasn't delisted and looks like being a good player.

What are people trying to insinuate that Pick 6 is jinxed or cursed?

Ridiculous

It was just an observation that i made, and was shocked to learn that walker had been judged the best.

Let's just hope our judgment of potential this draft will ensure our pick 6 becomes the most elite. Our judgment in the past is certainly questionable.
