Hey guys i am a little unsure about what to do as far as trades go this week, i have a few options, but cant decide on which 1 to take.

Option 1:

Ellis----> Milburn
T.Cloke---> any one lower or equals to $335,600 (the highest average player under that price is Leon Davis....:confused::confused:?). In fact come to think of it Leon Davis may not be that bad of option, he has had 1 bad game this year and other than that has been pretty good, plus he is probably the most exciting player to watch. And bloody hell his kick to handball ratio is HUGE.....the guy doesn't handball :p.

Option 2:

Kennelly-----> Milburn
T.Cloke-----> Chapman

This will mean Ellis will most likely stay with me for the whole year as i wont have enough trades to upgrade him (i only have 9 atm).

Option 3:
Not trade at all.....:p

Quite a few posts here about Wellingham / Cotchin and who to bring in / who makes more money.

One key factor to remember with mid year trades is that it is unlikely you will trade them out again, if you do it will be very late on so you need to find someone who is likely to play every game from here on.

Whilst there is a price differential, there is no point in burning a trade for a rookie who is gone in 4 weeks or in and out of the team. You will need coverage later in the season.

The money they make probably doesn't matter now as much as the injury protection they provide.

well pretty pissed actually:p was gonna go Mattner >> Milburn and Jones >> S Burgers but have just been informed that Shauny B will be out for a while:mad: So who would you get in your mids from Sewell(in a great side)/Ball(always lays tackles)/Cooney (superstar) or Goodes(will he hit form) or Young (see Sewell.:confused:

Exactly! I doubt anyone has enough trades to be thinking of trading off your second lot of rookies. I'm not worried about who's going to make more $$ but rather who's going to be getting games when you've got a gun injurred in the last few rounds. Therefore I don't think you can look past Cotchin, I know I'll be spending the extra 40k on getting him...

Goodes avg from round 2 onwards = 91
Cooneys avg = 91
Sewells avg = 95

Pretty close, I have Goodes but I would steer clear of him actually. Not sure if Cooney will do better when West is back.

How many will be jumping on Stanton? Has fallen dramatically in price...

If you want him, he's still falling, possibly pick him up in 2 weeks time, will be then ripe for the picking...

However keep in mind that trading Wellingham will get an extra $40k that you can use straight away, you don't need to make another trade for this. Its a risk admittedly, but that 40k could be the difference for example in upgrading Palmer to Bartel later on.

I'm also in a pickle with the Cotchin/Wellingham decision. Wellingham will get games, but Cotchin's a far more solid option.

Cotchin will obviously provide the better average for the year, but Wellingham gives you an extra 50k to play with. For me this week it's the difference between picking up Chapman or sticking with Cyril for another month or so.

The difference between picking the two is whether or not you're willing to take a risk with potential reward from now until the end of the year, or going with the safe option with a guaranteed reward later in the year.

If you have the chance take both, Wellingham this week and Cotchin next.

But i think Wellingham could be just as good a long term option as Cotchin plus you have an extra 50k, which Cat for Life rightfully pointed out, could be very important.

If you look at the Pies list, name a player that would take Wellingham's spot. Many, many people on the Pies board say he is already in their best 22 and should play all year and i'm with them. Looking at their emergencies, players injured and in the 2's, i don't see him loosing his spot at all. I'm honestly contimplating trading Geary to him this week, if Geary doesn't play and keeping Jack playing for one more week instead of getting Swan ("Pink Pig").

I'd be comfortable with Cotchin in the 8 spot and Wellingham in the 9 but not Wellingham as the number 1 backup for 13 games.

You mean Cotchin at 7 and Wellingham at 8 :D

Anyway, as i said Wellingham could be as good a long term option as Cotchin. He is much more of a risk but could definately be just as good an option plus you get an extra 50k.

I was posting a big speil over Wellingham/Cotchin options earlier but lost it due to site traffic or some rubbish and lost it.

Pies really don't have a lot missing, Presti/Fraser are certs for games when fit.
Others missing are Holland/Lonie, both will be only used if injuries pop up.
Kids to come in for the odd run Anthony/Cook/Reid/Egan/Goldsack plus a couple of others. None of those will get many games, possibly Goldsack the most. So the way Wellingham has played he maybe the best option from the Pies. How many games? No-one knows how MM thinks at times.

So for me, Wellingham this week in number 8 spot.
Cotchin next week seems the obvious choice for number 7.

Both should do me for rest of year hopefully. Every Rookie brought in now MUST be a potential keeper, even if you have to pay that little extra for them.

And I am avoiding Valenti until Melb get a Lti.

see ya later bigfooty,

losing internet for a while. moving house on Thursday. computers will be packed away tomorrow. so need to do my 2 trades tonight - "don't try this at home kids!" my team will have to run on autopilot for a while. 11 days til rd10 lockout... hopefully everything gets sorted by then.
Cloke -> Valenti
Bird -> Swan
don't wanna miss the Valenti phenomenon. this kid applies the fantasy trade (6 tackles :D). Cloke's price is headed for a landslide. and welcome aboard Dane Swan whom i've never owned before (including the year he was in the backs :mad:). i've set Cox(c) and Cross(vc). will have 12 remaining trades after tonight.

good luck all.
hope to be back soon.

Over and out.

Sometimes there is a little luck in this game, this year I have been hit with massive amounts of bad luck/bad selections.

So, last week I had it set that Ellis was being upgraded to a Milburn/Fisher styled player. Then I'm hit with injuries and players not playing (SD Thompson, Cornes, Symes). This changes my plan and I upgrade SD Thompson -> Milburn.

Lucky for me as Ellis pulls a score of 94 and should get more game time with the Hawks injuries in their backline. Sometimes you need a little luck go your way. (In saying this, Ellis may still pull some really bad scores)

I am currently ranked 2,700:) I have 7,500 in the bank, and have 6 trades left.:mad: Next week i am planning to use 2 trades laving me with only 4 trades for the left of the season:thumbsdown: BUT after these trades are completed then i am 100% with my team:thumbsu:

The trades will be
out: gamble in: valenti
out: tippet in: Riewoldt:cool:

Is this worth the 2 trades:confused:

You really are low on trades! Both those trades could wait at least a week and I'd probably not do them at all with the number of trades you have left.

flipping lol.

Gamble is fine, leave him.

Riewoldt is good but he's injured, get someone else. Or wait... what happens if you cop some injuries, you're ____ed thats what.

Just wait and save your goddamn trades man.

What do people think of my team? A few unique picks which can separate me from the rest and i reckon i'm gonna fly up the ranks in weeks to come. Also 168k in the bank and 7 trades remaining, probably gonna get Chapman next week...or i might even fork out for Richoman.

Backs: Cornes, Shaw, Macdonald, Gram, Osborne, Mattner, Goddard (Hansen,SDT)

Midds: Hayes, Cross, Murphy, Stevens, Hodge, Palmer (Ebert,Wellingham)

Rucks: Cox, Simmonds (Kruezer, Cartledge)

Forwards: Pavlich, Brown, BJ, Burton, Porplyzia, Rioli, Gamble (Tippett,Stewart)

who will be the best value for money in the cente next week. i am looking at these players and their approx prices:

Bartel 430,000
Kornes 420,000 - plays sydney so a palmer upgrade in a couple could work
Corey 420,000
Thompson 384,000
B.Harvey 360,000

harvey/thompson look the best value but i would really like to have the BEST so bartel must be considered strongly. thoughts?

Backline woes = losing first place in my league

Scored atrociously this week due to backline injuries - can't afford another shocker so need advice on who to trade. Thinking Kennelly and Symes at the moment (this week), then will still need a decent but cheap back-up player later (thinking Myers/Ibbotson).

DEF: Shaw, Goddard, Gram, Cornes, Symes, Kennelly, Wona, Proud, Selwood

Happy with my mids/forwardd....Have 13 trades and $55K in the bank - so if I trade Kennelly and Symes I could get two guns.

1) Which player would you trade?
2) Which players (2) would you pick: Burgoyne, Milbun, Johncock, Guerra, Birchall, someone else??

Cheers!

hahaha.......it's only round 9 and already blokes are down to single figure trades...i'm loving this...with the injuries mounting up, blokes won't have anywhere to turn.
You beauty!
