Roughly how many players per team would have received a lot of work in their character models? Is it just the superstar/popular players that got all the attention to detail? or do some of the likes of lesser players get some attention also? eg Kade Simpson, Andrew Carrazzo, Mark McVeigh, Sam Gilbert type players. I ask because I noticed you said some models had more detail than others.

I would normally ask about gameplay but I understand thats off limits.

Also great job your doing here.

So, what will happen in regards to teams like the Gold Coast and GWS? Unless they are available as downloadable content in the future, I don't see this game coming out for a while.

Damn you, Gold Coast and GWS! You've ruined everything!

Also, can you at least hint at when there might be a press release? I know it's legal mumbo jumbo, but it'd be great to know. I understand if you can't.

P.S. The pictures look fantastic, especially Akermanis. Good work, guys at Big Ant. :)

I would have thought that they would bring the game out this year, September Finals time, as they have stated that the game is pretty much done, just tweaking things, and for all the work they have put in working on player models, come seasons end , they would then have to delete a fair few due to delistings/retirements.

There is also the issue of then, if they leave the game untill next season, they then have to go ahead and make another 100 players on the game, not only ratings which they would be unsure of as the new draftees/rookies would not have played yet, and also have to go through the process of getting them in to take images of them etc.

To me it makes sense that if the game is done, and just about ready, it comes out during this season with current rosters and accurate abilities/looks of players.

A footy game in regards to playing lists is obviously a no win situation for the guys at Big Ant, they do the work and have the lists (likeness and ratings) up to date now and the game comes out and everyone is happy, but then not long after the game is out, A new team comes into the competition, players get delisted, traded, retire or sacked like Aker, and people will complain that the game roster is not up to date. The problem is that if they left the game till the start of next season, they pretty much have to go in blind in regards to rating all the new draftees.

Hopefully the game comes out this season, people can play it , enjoy it, they get feed back on the game, and as they said they are looking to the next version already!, Depends on how much work is involved but there could always be a patch come out during the early stages of next season with roster updates?

It'd be awesome if you won the flag, you see them go on stage and collect the trophy and celebrate. I know it's something small, but it seemed a bit hollow in the old games when you won and nothing really happened.

That was my pet hate with FIFA. Going through manager mode and not seeing any sort of celebration/presentation.

Good thinking, Lynchy. I am with you there, it just makes sense for them to release it come finals time, there's never a time in the season where there's more hype for AFL than finals time. Any other time would be more work and a bad marketing strategy.

Well it is up to the publisher, but I just think an AFL game is on a hiding to nothing in terms of rosters and releasing of the game. There will be some people that will always find something to whinge about, they either would not be happy if the game came out now that the rosters for 2011 where not up to date, or if they game came out before the start of season 2011, they would complain because stats/ratings of new draftees where wrong etc

Mostly players that have marked features are getting more work, then there are captains and specifically notable players that are getting more again. The "second" tier players definitely look like their photos.

I'm mainly not answering many gameplay question because we do need to keep some things in reserve for the press release and because a video tells a thousand words, explaining it might not do the game justice.

Will the AFL and/or players play a part in the marketing of the game? Just curious, as I don't recall any involved in the old games. May be wrong on this though.

Nice post, thanks.

Be a pro won't be in this iteration but we have a design for it and plans to get it in a later release.

No probs mate.

This really excites me and if implemented correctly (NBA2k10 and NHL 10 are great examples) I think a lot of people will find themselves having a go at playing as one of their favourite players for a season or 10.

Nice post, thanks.

The replays have the clarity of the snippets you've seen.

I will reveal the interchange controls tomorrow, I would have tonight but I need to make sure my facts are 100% right.

Awesome to see B.A.P will be implemented in the future, great stuff :thumbsu:

And sweet, looking forward to it.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but will there be a multi year franchise type mode in this game? Only asking because this is what takes up most of my time playing Madden and I enjoyed playing the mode on the previous AFL games.

Or better yet, can we use music on our X-Box 360 hard drive as the soundtrack for the game? This feature is great on NHL 10.

Yeah the 360 allows you to play your own music in any game but i'm just wondering what they'll have :p
