From what I've seen from gameplay videos on YouTube, it's a bit sloppy but still a fun game to bum around on and have some fun. Typical AFL game really. It's VERY similar with the AFL Gold application on the iPad. Can anyone give me an idea of the after-match statistics? Can you view each players statistics as well as the team?

Don't put words in my mouth, it makes you look amateurish (which I know you aren't).

Yes AFL Live may have released with flaws (personally I didn't enjoy the game as much as others), but the fact of the matter is the flaws in AFL Live 2 are things that should have been cut (or fixed) when the game was in it's beta stages, this game plays and looks like an unfinished game (Tru Blu have even admitted that it is). It's a disgrace that this was allowed to be released and it is simply a cash grab. If anyone in the AFL hierarchy has actually played this and has some brains, they'll take the license away from Tru Blu.

I mark AFL Live 2 down to a case of 'each to their own'. I enjoy it. Others don't.
 
Hmm I though this wasn't due 'til the 12th.

I'll pick it up from eb tommorow, sounds like it's going to be interesting...also like I should hang on to the reciept.

I picked this up this morning.

Not the greatest game but one that i will most likely see through.

One of the many things that have been annoying me and i believe it's one that was asked by more than a few members on this forum was the ability to see how players are performing during games e.g. disposals, goals things like that.

Am i missing something or have they not included that feature? or is something that appears at the end of each quarter?

Yeah that stuff is great, but the game is just not as fun as AFL Live. They should of kept the same gameplay and this would have been awesome to play.

also have you noticed in different games the grass is mowed in different patterns each time.
 
Started on Hard and won my first game versus Sydney by 4 goals. About 5 games later and it got boring, quickly. The gameplay is pretty terrible, comparing it to AFL Live 1 and even suggesting it's better is completely laughable.

I've now resorted to going through career mode with the Hawks but letting the AI play for me. I just pick the team, deal with injuries/tribunals, set tactics and on game day I just switch my controller over to my team to make interchanges and then switch it back to AI controlled. It's fun enough and works well enough even if I have to make sure the opposition has their second ruckman as first man on the bench before each match to make sure the AI uses him properly.

I'm having more fun playing the game this way, than actually playing the game, and I'm only 2 days in.
 
Was planning to pick this game up today, but with all this criticism, not to sure anymore, seems it'd be alright for $60.

I'm not trying to be a smartass, but I haven't missed a set shot yet :oops:

Just pull the stick back, wait for it to power up, and then push straight back up again. I'm actually finding that even if I slightly flick the stick right or left on purpose, the ball doesn't veer off course too far at all.

Man you must be good at it then. If you go into the red zone the ball usually goes about 5 metres, and the first 10 shots I took didn't make the distance because I didn't charge it up enough.

As for the veering off course thing.. I had a shot from straight in front 30 m out go out on the full because of the curve :p

EDIT: I'd also point out that Hawthorn are the best in the game, and it makes quite a large difference in this game. Players drop the ball, miss kicks, miss shots etc. etc. way more when they aren't the best in the league. You probably would have found the game a lot more challenging if you played as Port Adelaide/Melbourne against Sydney.

Also, I'd agree with anyone who says the game is made difficult by the controls being awkward/hard rather than the opponent outplaying you. I'm not too fussed about that though, but it is quickly becoming easy to win games which is unfortunate :(

I think that because it's so easy to find a spare man 20-30m out from goal, I never have to have a shot from any further out than that. From that range, you only need to fill the meter just passed half way.

You could be right about being the best team in the game though, will have a crack with Melbourne or someone else today.
 
im lead to believe you can create players in this is that correct?

has anyone done that?

can you set looks , height, position, player skill set?

what is the career mode like? anyone simmed through to that yet and seen how the kids are that can get drafted? are they reasonably good? i remember early 2000's ea sports nba game once the game players retired all the players that came through the draft were pretty average. 2k is much better though.

im really interested in having one playable season with created players and one season were i player manage and sim games and draft a good team.

The main reason i got this game.
The A1 interchange issue was what made me return AL1 and all i wanted was for AL2 to have rectified this............

Took it back after 2 hours

Would be nice for them to come and put in some time here. I don't quite get the quietness all up and why now they are deciding to speak.

I do agree, but better late than never.
If they actually listen to our suggestions the next iteration of AFL Live could be much much better.
