Why does the html all matches link now redirect me to whatever shit they have running

Its doing it with me to Not happy! I would prefer the radio to be running directly through Windows Media player all this other thing doe sis slow down my PC and what happened now if that stupid thing is down???

I can no longer access the radio online as the previous links just direct me to the afl website and when I click on the radio links within Match Centre nothing works.

Anyone having the same problem? Is terribly frustrating!

Gotta say, their new match centre is pretty horrid. Not only does it slow my browser down to a crawl, it also doesn't update as frequently. The HTML match viewer updated every 30 seconds with new data. This one on the other hand has been awful tonight. At times it took over three minutes to update with new data. Doesn't sound like a long wait, but it's a massive step back and is also not good for those websites showing live data.

Time for the AFL to hire competent web developers.

Anybody else wondering why the website is so incessantly slow? The following XML file might be just a bit illustrious.

Open this page and it'll take a good 10 seconds to load. 2.5 megabytes of data.

Have a look at one of the XML script that it has to load:

Now, I'm sure most of you would have no experience with XML. But even the most 'incomputerate' buffoon will notice that there's something strange happening.

Scroll down a bit and you'll find the site loading the fixture for both teams:

I'll admit I have no idea about the nuances of XML, but speaking to my brothers (both of whom have designed websites in the past), they found it both hilarious and incredibly bemusing.

Really, AFL? I couldn't give a stuff of how much Telstra pay for the rights. A first year university IT student could come up with a better website than the bloated crap that our largest telecommunications company dishes out, year after year.

And the match day things live stats sextion is terrible.

The HTML live stats was about the only thing on that website that worked, why they ditched it for the shitty match day live section where it doesn't even have enough columns to see all the stats.

I don't even bother with the AFL site as it's just too slow, footywire is a better site for live stats although even that's had a few issues this year.
