Yeah can't see how anyone thought Cunners had a better game than Riewoldt. Hopefully it was just a case of the opposition coach being nice to the winners.Wow, cunners was good but Reiwvodlt was clearly the best player on the ground.
He did nothing. Like Hunter before him.Was surprised that Montagna got a vote at all. Was one of the worst 38 possession games I have ever seen. Cheap ball and hardly a possession that did any damage to the opposition.
If the game was at the "G" he would have blended in perfectly with all seagulls on the ground.

Would like to know the metres gained Montagna and Hunter got as opposed to our halfbacks. We seem to allow huge possession numbers to the opposition across HB but very few of those are damaging.
Montagna had 655m gained and Hunter had 693m.Would like to know the metres gained Montagna and Hunter got as opposed to our halfbacks.
Who knows, maybe it does work for them?

Considering Hunter got 44 and Montagna 38 they basically did a whole lot of nothing with a 3rd of their touches.Big difference really. It means Hunter and Montagna were averaging 15.75 and 17.23 metres per possession.
By comparison, Atley and Mullett gained an average of 23.71 and 25.5 metres respectively against St Kilda.
Jack consistently polling coaches votes wont be doing his future leadership aspirations any harm.
ESSENDON v NORTH MELBOURNE
10 Sam Gibson (NM)
But dat turnover!!
(*gasps*)
That dog has a puffy tail!!
It was NDS esque that turnover. Who would have thought two years ago that a Gibson shocker would be compared to Dal Santo...?
Cracking game. He's having a much more impressive start to the season than last year. His fitness advantage seems even more obvious with the interchange amendments.
It's those unforced errors that need to be eradicated. (Not just from Gibbo)
Really basic shit that you just can't meas up.
That dropped mark....In this instance it was decision making rather than skill really though. Decision making is the first casualty when teams go into take it easy mode. They don't want to run for each other and they don't want to take any perceived risk. The same reason teams start to cough up the ball in the backline under no pressure when chipping around.
That dropped mark....
Yeah look tsk (TM JYD), Taz was terrific and looks like taking most people's 3's (which I'm ok with) but if you didn't think Gibson was in the top 2 (North) players on the ground, I'd be a little concerned. If you think he wasn't in the top 3, I'd hazard a guess that you tried to drink yourself silly to forget the second half. Like this young gentlemen (the Ziebull):Gee, what a massive, massive shock. Didn't see that one coming at all.
And yet of course some of the experts on Bigfooty saw fit to leave him out of their votes altogether. Not sure whether that comes down to lack of footy nous or it's simply the manifestation of some petty bullshit grudge they may have with the bloke, but either way I'm sufficiently amused.
In more un-shocking news, I went back and checked which posters didn't rate Gibbo's game worthy of a vote and found a strong, Venn Diagram-tastic relationship between 'posters who left him out of their votes' and 'posters whose opinions on footy I ignore'. Colour me agog.
In the rush to call him out on one turnover, did it ever occur to people what may have transpired on Saturday if not for the guy getting 36 touches at 89%DE and running his guts out all night when a large number of his teammates were seemingly stuck in slumber mode?
