Don't know if he said it by I know that friday of round 18 is cut off date for promoting rookies.Originally posted by ****
I thought I heard Rhett Biglands on 5AA say that this week is the cutoff for rookies to be elevated.
Did I hear that or am I dreaming?

I think we will promote both at the end of the year. When we promote a rookie during the season we always promote them on the senior list at the end of the year.Originally posted by Kane McGoodwin
Right decision by AFC. Now need to play him for at least 2 games to see whether he worth putting on the full list next year. More important to play Parker ahead of Smith, as we can leave Matthew on the rookie list for another year.

No problems playing both, but if we can only squeeze only 1 into the side, then Parker must be given priority IMO.Originally posted by macca23
We have to play both Kane, or what's the point of elevating them to the main list. We need to know whether they have the makings of an AFL player or should be delisted, and there's only one way to find out IMO.

This thread is a relief was thinkin the AFC might never elevate him.Well done Parker you deserve the spot with your very consistent form over 2 years.
Mentioned before that our recruiting over the past few years has been OK - it's just prior to then it was ordinary - & that is what we are going to start paying for in the next couple of years (ie. our lack of quality mid-range aged players).Originally posted by arrowman
I don't know him but welcome aboard, son! I look forward to watching his progress, had a lot of enjoyment watching Reilly, Bock etc so far.
We may be in for a bit of pain in the next couple of years but I think Crows supporters can get a lot of enjoyment watching and supporting our new young guys. Let's get behind them all!
(And, yeah - Reilly, Bock, Rutten, Jericho etc ... has our recruiting really been as bad as some would say???)

Let me start with I have no evidence to support this it's simply hearsay from a workmate but I'll share anyway!
Gossip i'd heard was that when Parker transferred to Glenelg this year, the Crows rang South to find out what happened...South told them that he was lazy, undiscplined and had a poor attitude and when told he wasn't working hard enough he sulked and quit the club. Apparently the Crows weren't at all impressed with Parker's behaviour as a result and were looking at getting rid of him...
Perhaps by elevating him, it's a chance to
a) have more backup for your injury ravaged squad
b) give him a chance to come good and how his attitude really is before making a final decision
Good luck to him - I hope he can make a success of it![]()
Spot on.Originally posted by naughty monkey
your workmate was talking a load of horsesheet.
The Crows were the ones who initiated the move to Glenelg on Aidan's behalf.
The reason he left South was because Pyman wouldn't let him play in the same position for more than ten minutes. Even had him in the ruck at one point! Parker lost form and then confidence. He was about to be dropped to the twos, hence the move.
