Treloar - $666k
Pendles - Unknown
Aish - $400k max
Greenwood - $450k
Cloke - front ended contract, will not be on anything close to 800k. Likely half that.

So that's close to $600k exaggerations not even taking into account what Pendles is on. And people still defend you when you get labeled as a troll.

******* laughable.
Aish on 400 would be laughable too. Although. It's probably close to the mark....

I know this can't happen. But if Keefe didn't do what he did he would have been the ideal trade for Aish and likely a win-win for both clubs.Btw I rate Keefe as a defender but we do have an abundance of key defenders at the moment.Anyway I hope we can get Aish somehow.
We have Brown and Reid, with average back-up in the form of Marsh and Frost.

Keefe would make us a much better side.

Players do get a choice, but they shouldn't be able to restrict themselves to a single club. If returning home is what they ultimately want, why then restrict yourself to a single team, surely you'd be happy with just returning to melbourne/adelaide/perth etc rather than a specific team (more options leads to ultimately better compensation).

The whole point of free agency was to give players more choice, which is great, but only after you've served a certain amount of time with said club. I've no issues with that whatsoever. It's the self-entitlement of those whom are relatively fresh in the AFL system that think they get to dictate where it is that they get to play. This in part has been bought about by free agency, thus players thinking they have far more freedom. Personally, I'd love if initial contracts were lengthened, gets us over the second year blues, at 20/21 years of age, they are that little bit wiser, not as needy, and we may end up with a proportion more that will hang around.

Again, I've covered all of this previously.

It looks like (at worst), we've got 2, 21, 22 (leuey compo), and possibly WC's 1st rounder as well going into the draft. Each of which will amply cover for Schache, Keays and hipwood (even if both academy boys get sub 10 bids). With Aish, we're likely to see some short term pain. Yes it will be at a detriment to the club. But it does send a message, that you can't use Brisbane as a stepping stone (i.e. that with the lottery of the draft, you don't always get to where you want, but can use the situation if you're recruited by Brisbane to get to exactly where you want). His (aish's) seemingly under-handed tactics, have perpetuated us into this decision. (bearing in mind, I think a trade will get done, the AFL will step in - but it will speed up some positive changes in terms of post drafting contracts etc - which is ultimately what we really want)
Underhand tactics?? Is his old man sick or something?

I tend to agree with you. I only say $400k because that's supposedly what Brisbane tabled for him. I'm hoping that he wants out badly enough though, that he would take somewhere in the realms of $350k.

Trade week got people going crazy talking to no-one ;)

Just been banned from the general Aish thread for calling Carlton no longer a powerhouse.
Ridiculous. Sure I compared them to the commodore64 of the computing sector, but can't see how this is trolling.

Haha I swear, it's so hard to venture out of the Collingwood board and not get banned these days.
It's like Bigfooty is a war zone and while we're in the exclusion zone (Collingwood board), everywhere else is filled with landmines just waiting to ruin your day.

Depends what comes with Anderson. If we were directly dealing with the Hawks, Anderson and a 3rd for Aish would be equitable to me.
That's an interesting one. Anderson and a third rounder from Hawks (end up being high 50's pick) is okay but say Oxley and maybe pick 22 or 24 doesnt do it. Anderson has shown some promise, has also apparently had some issues. Oxley has shown a bit, 17 games after missing a season with injury isnt nothing.

Cant see a huge difference here, if anything the Collingwood offer is better with an early 2nd rounder being way better tah a late 3rd in this draft.

We should should set an ultimatum on Brisbane that if they don't bend over by a certain date we will shut off all negotiations. The pressure is all on them to salvage something from the this deal. If they want self-destruct by sending him to the draft, we should let them. We lose nothing from that course.

We should also be going hard for Anderson. Injuries aside, he is better than Aish and going after him will the added effect of making Brisbane a bit nervous that all this posturing over Aish will be for nothing.

Let's not be too critical of Brisbane's negotiating team. At the end of the Beam's trade we got a very fair deal.
**** the beams trade

As I've said before, I don't particularly care if we land Aish or not. But if Brisbane keep this current stance it'll get ugly. I understand not trading someone if the offer isn't fit. But if your not even willing to sit down and have a conversation. It won't just be us taking public pot shots, it'll be Aish, Pickering and it will need a mediator to get involved. There's a difference between not accept a low ball offer and then just being an outright pack of campaigners.

The afl I would imagine wouldn't do too many favours when they ask for priority picks when they're letting the ones they have walk out for nothing.

I'm already over the Aish saga, gonna try say nothing more. I'm just bored

If Aish isn't traded because Brisbane refuse to even negotiate he would be justified going to court. He'd have a pretty good case I suspect. The AFL don't want that. If I was Aish/Pickering I'd be making it known to Brisbane and the AFL (privately) that Aish will be at Collingwood next year either via a trade or via a court ruling that the player rules unfairly restrained his ability to ply his trade. All hell would break loose.

I would like to agree with you but i dont think brisbane are doing anything illegal. Just being campaigners.

Im surprised they did as well as they did out of redden. Pick 17 is very good considering he hasnt played in 2 years.

If we can somehow turn a few of our second rounders into a top 18 pick, lions would be made to lass it up as they can use those picks on academy players who will never leave the club.

Otherwise, if they want players we can deal with carlton to facilitate the bell trade.

We have the means of making this happen, and surely brisbane will facilitate it.

If the Lions have 3 picks in the first round, and then get compo in the 2nd for leunberger, they can seriously use this draft as the rebuilding of their club

Not so sure about that, didn't another player try it and it was settled before court.
Because Aish is out of contract it is in his favour in so far as asking for a trade. Maybe if he was still in contract might be different?

Ball and Nick Stevens were both out of contract. Unless the rules have changed.

He's been playing for a while hasn't he? Has had some injuries but I thought he only missed half a dozen games at worst each year.

The Lion's are all talk, but even they're not that stupid to out everyone offside with this pig headed stance

Pretty good case? Ayee lmao. Do you honestly think the AFL will sympathize with a glory chaser? Unless we have a sudden change of heart, he will be at Carlton next year and you guys are just going to have to accept that.

Dont count your chickens.

Neither went to court.

http://www.footyindustry.com/?page_id=274 - good article

Silvio Foschini was the one I was thinking of.
Buckenara tried it too but because he was still under contract, case was dismissed.

"The AFL system allows drafting for a 2 year period, before allowing players to change clubs via trade, preseason or national drafts. In 2012 it enters a new phase where a limited form of free agency is permitted – and some would say it has been something of a success with 17 players traded during this period."
