Pretty good case? Ayee lmao. Do you honestly think the AFL will sympathize with a glory chaser? Unless we have a sudden change of heart, he will be at Carlton next year and you guys are just going to have to accept that.
The courts may, see #1000

I really couldn't care less if we do not get him. I would just hate Carlton to get him. The only loser out of this will be the lions. The winners will be GC (which will be the QLD club of choice) and possibly Carlton for picking up a top 10 pick for nothing.

Out of interest could Aish nominate for the national draft? When are nominations required?

Looking likely Seedsman is off to GC & they have offered Pick 22. Freeman also looking like sending Pick 24 us tomorrow.

Aish would have to nominate for the national draft if he wishes to come to us. No way he gets passed Carlton in the pre season. It would be national and he would have to hope to last into the 20s until we have a pick

When do u have to nominate for the national draft? If he is contracted until the 31st October, does he need to wait until he is off contract or can he nominate anytime? I'm assuming he can walk out and just nominate.

I've got no idea when. Just remember reading you can nominate for all 3 haha sorry that's all the help I can be :p

You do realise only Brisbane lose out if they refuse to trade Aish?

We don't, we simply take a couple of top 25 picks to the draft or target another who suits our needs.

No big deal.

Like most other simpleton Brisbane supporters, do you also drink your own bath water?

Mark my words you campaigner:

1. AFL and AFLPA will get involved if your recalcitrant football club refuse to even entertain discussion on a trade for an "uncontracted player"
2. Brisbane will change their mind on trading him (see point 1)
3. Nobody voluntarily wants to go to the Filth, just like nobody wants to go to your cultureless club.

And you guys have to accept that
A) every draftee will make himself look like a basket case in his interview
B) the unfortunate ones will have to enjoy a 2yr paid surf and sun holiday / part time study at James Cook uni.
C) no penalties whatsoever as worst case the draftee would be released of contract and back in the draft early.
D) still walk out on you to the draft after 2 yrs with a nice tan and appreciate the professional environment of the rest of the AFL.

Have a nice day

Edit --A) might backfire, that would fit in with your club.

The main issue isn't really where he will be....but that he won't be at Brisbane.

This is my feelings right now with Aish and Brisbane.

Pies get to see Reddo traded and they lose Aisho for nothing, both players 12 months ago were untouchable, and not going anywhere.

Its a win win for us with Aish. He won't make or break Collingwood, our priority is Treloar.

Getting a massive kick out of all this at the moment.

Court shenanigans aside, it's no skin off my nose. You guys are the ones who will pick a bloke at 7 then gift wrap him to Carlton two years later. We'll just move on with looking after our club and acting at least semi rationally. Aish or no Aish.

To me this is it. The guy is being massively over rated in this whole conversation anyway. Seedsman and Ox are being undervalued. I just don't see why we would be so keen. Brisbane's best bet is that he baulks at the possibility of going to Carlton and re-signs with them.

Not sure that I want to use a first rounder for Aish. But it seems likely to be the case....

The Carlton bloke should have been given a holiday for actually saying they are a powerhouse and Aish would be happy to be there. Dillusional and flaming the true powerhouse clubs imo
Of course Aish would be happy to be at Carlton. After all he nominated them as the club he wanted to go to....oh wait.

Being at the bottom of the ladder for the last decade has made Carlton fans delirious.

Nice get out clause.
Id say that happened around the time of the 'big ultimatum'

Keep those picks trade to Sydney for 14 and get a forward

Then use our 2nd round pick on Rioli

Treloar
Weirdeman
Rioli

Fills 3 big needs

Honestly, I think Aish is worth pick 15-ish, if we got him he'd flourish big time, I wouldn't look at this year as an indication of his talent at all considering this was hanging over his head all season/toxic culture up there.

Anyway 1st pick next year is a definite no in my books, as we're getting rid of this years pick.

The easiest way I see it playing out, if Brisbane are reasonable, is accepting x 2 second round picks that we acquire via Freeman/Seedsman or if we upgrade those two picks to a first rounder and on trade it to Brisbane.

Hopefully common sense prevails and the deal gets done.

For those who think we would go to court to get Aish.
While Ed is in charge this simply will not happen. He is a supporter of the AFL rules and will not try to break them via the courts.
Brisbane are hoping against hope that Aish will not consider going to Carlton and will sign with them again.
If he holds firm that he will not sign them, and only then, will they consider trading to get a return.
Problem for them is that by then we may have used whatever package we have in other trades.
This will cone down to how hard the kid wants to go to secure a trade.
I'm not sure that I would want a player who has requested a trade to his club of choice, then been frustrated in completing that move, at my club.
I reckon he would be toxic to every new player into the environment.
Revenge is a dish best served in the change rooms.

I think young James has shown what he could be giving Carlton if they draft him....another two years of....hmmmm. Just like he gave Brisbane.
Now if the Blues want to take that risk, yeah he can go there? But seriously, why would they want someone that wants to go somewhere else?
Surely the Bluebaggers will try and do a deal with us for a player or pick to get young james where he wants to go?

Two or three clubs need to be involved to get this one done.

Brisbane only getting a third rounder for Leuy helps our case with Aish.
