i know that at this point it's completely redundant to point out jason akermanis being a hypocrite, but... he himself wrote a whole newspaper article about the topic of gay footballers coming out, and then his response (which no one asked for) to another newspaper article about gay football players coming out is "who cares?"

I questioned him on an unrelated topic and received a few replies from him. I asked Aker what he would say to someone that said he wasn't a team player.

He replied with a few individual stats and achievements and included in there that he was the most 'winningest player', and to 'google it' when another person questioned him on it.

After defending him against some people I felt were trolling him, I'll be asking him to clarify the comment 'winningest. Sorry if I have missed important later information in the thread. I'm only just up to the second page.

It's a smart move by Aker, he should never have had a twitter account in the first place. He is a type a person who cannot think too far ahead or quick enough when it comes to his mouth. Handing someone like him unrestricted access to the public to express his thoughts and feelings to the public on an open and uncut forum is never going to end well.

Facebook and Twitter can make half decent and usually clear thinking people look very stupid. Put those tools in the hands of a person who craves attention and who has made a living off of being controversial was a disaster waiting to happen. When he wrote his column he was at least edited, but he still found a way to get into trouble. His radio career died for the same reason, it was a live feed into the head of a nut. Giving him the power to express himself 24/7 on any topic he chooses to, and to respond to those calling him out, was always going to end up in a mess.

Aker may very well be a nice person, I'm sure that he has good in him, but the tools that have made him famous do not draw out the best side of him. Getting rid of twitter was a good move by him, he should have never signed up in the first place.

I'm perplexed. Apparently I no longer Follow him on Twitter, although his account still shows. I'm also 'Forbidden' to Follow him it tells me when I ask to add him again. This is weird, as I have shown nothing but respect to him, in fact, I have even quite staunchly defended him, which he has seen and responded to.

Any ideas why?
