Food for thought: if video games make people violent, Atkinson would be dead by now but he's not.

I think the quote by the developer/producer/whatever on being refused classification may have turned the tide.

*paraphrasing*
"We will not be making any changes to the game in order to sell it in countries where governments do not believe adults can make their own entertainment choices".

Hopefully the OFLC also let it in to piss Atkinson off after Atkinson said that the OFLC are idiots.

Valve and Fatty Poomba Gabe Newell said much to the same effect for no sway, so I doubt it.

Yet L4D2 remains butchered
I heard a whisper that their is a patch/update coming out that will put it back to the original..... Something about not being able to classify online content or updates...... Anyone else heard this??

I get the feeling he thinks they are idiots because of what they let in but they in turn let in things because of how stupid our rating system is and they understand how much money is at stake etc its a vicious cycle really.

Won't happen. While patches might not be rated the game still is. And any change like that would place the game in the RC area again and the game would be once again banned. Not only that Valve would most likely be in breach of some law and be severely fined too.
That did happen with GTAIV so here's hoping! :thumbsu:
It happened with GTA IV accidentally and was promptly re-patched within a day or so...

Yeah Gabe said that himself.

He's going to patch the PC version but he's not sure how he can actually patch the Xbox 360 version.

I'm presuming this is why it was originally refused classification:

Decision overturned and the game will get an MA15+ rating as it is Sci-Fi

Great, now the game really will end up with kids, great work Atkinson.
Hmm, it's ok because it's Sci-Fi? Maybe all games that are potentially banned will add a Sci-Fi element in just to say that it's Sci-Fi so it's ok.
Mine's still uncensored....
lolwut? PC or 360 version?

Maybe he didn't download the patch. Calm down ;).
I realise that, but it would also mean that he wouldn't be able to play online while doing so either. Pretty counter-active considering the uncensored version is still pretty tame to basically cancel out half your game.

That's how Ninja Gaiden got off didn't it?

Or saying that the enemies weren't human or something.

"Can someone explain why on the Playstation Store ... the AVP Alien Trailer 1 is rated MA15+:

Blood and gore
Content may change when played online
Moderate course language
Moderate nudity
Strong battle violence
Strong graphic violence
Strong horror themes
Strong horror violence
Strong sci-fi violence
Strong violence"

lulz. The most labled/rated video?

So I guess according to the classification board Zombies = Humans

i'm pretty sure the issue with l4d2 was that they didnt exactly call them zombies more like infected humans or something so technically the aim of the game is to slaughter thousands of humans hence the bs rating
