But then again, AA Selectors aren't known for being normal. Alistair Lynch was named AA Full Back in 1993 even though he kicked 60+ goals that season for Fitzroy.

just cause someone is a team captain that doesnt mean they have shown the best leadership. the AA selectors should select the person who they think has shown the most on field leadership and who THEY think would be the best captain. many of the team captains are chosen for their off field roles as well and the AA selectors have no real way of seeing that aspect of it. the selectors can only go by what they see on game day, and the player that has shown the most leadership on the field (however you quantify that) deserves to be the captain.

If it was for was handed to the best player then Pendles or Mitchell.
