Only Dockers worth being named in AA squad...Fyfe to be only Docker in final team !!

Pretty much how its going to be in the B n F this year...

Fyfe and McPharlin

Who are you and what have you done with Seppo?

Just being a realist for once.

I've been optimistic all season on us winning games in the back half and not getting more injuries... See where that got me :(

Fyfe MIGHT make the interchange in the final side. The fact Freo didn't finish in the top 8 weighs against him TBH.

If Gary Ablet gets in when GC won the wooden spoon then he is a shoe in - there is a heap of players in the "squad" behind Nat i reckon...Would deserve a spot - will win our Doing medal i reckon...

I don't think Fyfe will make the final squad, just because he slowed down a fair bit in the second half of the season. He would have been one of the first picked midway through the season, but that drop off will just be too much I think.

McPharlin was also killing it early on, but missing those few games will hurt his chances. He also didn't come back in top form.

If this makes any sense at all, I think McPharlin has more of a chance of getting a jumper, even though I think Fyfe played more brilliant games.

Fyfe and McPharlin

Like junglemuffin is saying, I actually think McPharlin has had the more consistent season, but Fyfe the more spectacular and positional more noticeable. Having said that, I think McPharlin's spot on the AA field has some stiff competition, where as Fyfe has a chance of getting in on a few places on the team (including the bench).

BTW, haven't seen the full list, but this must be the first season in ages Pav hasn't at least made the final 40.

Hope they both make the AA team. Would be absolutely amazing if Fyfe makes it the team but I don't really see it happening. If he does it'll probably be at most, the interchange bench.

Also, LOL at all the Richmond fans sooking at the Fyfe selection in the AA thread on the main board. They're the only ones who think Fyfe doesn't deserve to make the squad over Martin or Cotchin.

so the top two teams each have half a dozen players in the squad, which illustrates the level of commitment required from a host of players in order to challenge for the flag.
these are the fellas our current list who could be considered next year:

silvagni
barlow
fyfe
mcpharlin
pav
sandi
mundy

there's probably half dozen others who, if they lift their work rate by 10%, could give it a shake too. good times.

Well done to both on terrific seasons. :thumbsu:

Think McPharlin is a certainty in defence, Fyfe might squeeze onto the bench but I don't like his chances.

McPharlin more likely and long time deserving. Fyfe would be great, if he squeezes in, but probably will get more chances in coming years...

I honestly can't see either of them making it. They will go with the top teams for key defenders, such as Glass, Reid, Scarlett. Fyfe will not be able to make the midfield ahead of Murphy, Pendlebury, Mitchell, Judd, Ablett. He will be left scrapping for a forward flank or bench spot with Goodes, Johnson, Thomas and a few others ... and I daresay he will just miss out.
