Not major, but there will be an update and congrats are in order unless I’m missing something. Lachie Neale will be the statistically best clearance player in the history of the game at some stage in the next 30 minutes. To do that in 70 odd less matches than Selwood and 130 less than Pendles is a staggering achievement.

Edit: right on cue he does it literally in the first 3 seconds of the 3rd quarter 😅

Hopefully someone on the Brisbane site has an all time Neale records watch where he can be properly revered because this is all about our GOAT!

Updates made after the Gold Coast loss.

Couple of key points:

  • Will move into the top 10 longest careers next week
  • Will move into 18th for oldest players next week
  • Stays in 4th place for clearances but now chasing down Joel Selwood as both Dangerfield and Neale have moved past him
  • Still ticking away at the Goals Assist category and now just 6 to go to bring him into equal 1st
 
Updates made after the disappointing Freo loss.

Some key notes:

  • Moved into 10th of all time for longest careers and now chasing the great Tony Lockett! Surprised the big fella had a career as long as Pendles
  • Jumped 2 places to move into 17th for oldest players. Next target is a guy called Alby Morrison who played his last game in 1946

I think Plugger had a couple of stints, but I agree - I'm surprised he had as long a career. Possibly started early as well.

It was coming out of retirement after missing 2 years that got Lockett over the line.
 
1 year extension for the GOAT! Bloody brilliant and mean he will almost definitely get the Goal Assists record and likely to get the all time games record.

The other categories are still likely to be out of reach unfortunately.

Updates over the past two weeks were limited... did move into 9th for oldest players though and now chasing Kevin Murray
 
Updated after the Crows loss

Key points of interest:

  • Moved into 3rd of all time for clearances but with Neale and Dangerfield ahead of him I think that’s the pinnacle for this category
  • Moved into 16th oldest and now chasing Paul Salmon
Needs 4 more goal assists to go into 1st
Needs 4 more games to go into second
Needs 4 more wins to go into 4th
Needs 4 more brownlow votes to go into 4th

Absolutely! I was hoping dangerfield would also go so Pendles could attempt to chase him down but I think he’s contracted for next year and is killing it so could potentially go on
 
It looks likely that Pendles will finish 2025 on either 425 games or 426 games (equal to Tuck).

As long as we don't keep him on the backline where he did some magnificent work against the dees in that last quarter, should be passing Eddie Betts very soon, for goal assists.
 
Updates made after the finals win!

As widely mentioned, Pendles moves into equal 4th now of all time finals played. Will have to wait until next year to catch Shaun Burgoyne and then Selwood and Tuck the next year ;)

Also moved into 15th for oldest players now chasing Bill Proudfoot

Hopefully 2 games left, 2 wins left and 2 goal assists left in the season

He played down back a bit again. Those two GAs might take a little longer!
 
As soon as he retires I'm going to buy that watch.
