Pickett has a -59 free kick count in 89 matches. So assuming he was replaced by a player with an average free kick differential for a Richmond player, Pickett would add around -0.4 free kick differential at most per game.

So that wouldn't explain much of the deficit.
He's averaging two a game this year. Also it doesn't strike you as odd that a single player is running at -59 for his career.
 
I have been looking at this in the stats for all the clubs and it is taking a while (there is a lot of data and permutations). I am looking at it from the point of Frees that the side gives away. I am going to say that from what I see when I watch the games, Richmond free kicks are like 95 - 98% correct. So little are incorrect or wrong but they are all technically there.

What I am seeing in the preliminary data is that there are some sides that other sides magically all become more disciplined when they play them. I am hoping to have the 2023 data done soon.
