Is anyone else concerned about this club's lack of a killer instinct? It isn't just happening this year; it's been happening a few times in the last 2-3 seasons.

A percentage of 93.2 is appalling for a club that's 4-2.

Yesterday - led by 41 points halfway through last quarter, final margin 10.

Round 4 vs. Carlton, let Carlton kick last four goals of match; should have won that match by 70 points.

Round 3 vs. West Coast, kick first 8 goals of the match, but we let them come roaring back and even hit the front before evening it up and then snatching the game on the last kick.

It's been happening for a couple of years. The 2002 draw with the Bulldogs and the week previous against Melbourne are both good examples of not finishing the game out.

yeah it was terrible, we desperately needed the %
the ability of our players to physically and mentally run out a match is a concern. i'm not sure it was a physical issue on saturday though, they just seemed to think they had it won.

I don't think this is a physical or fitness issue, it's just the complacency that goes through our players when we know we have won the game in the last quarter, it usually happens when you have a number of youngsters in the side.

As long as we keep winning, percentage won't be an issue ... but it would be nice to get above 100% in the next couple of weeks.

for a club that lost its first game by 90 odd points, a percentage of 93.2 isn't that bad only 6 games

Considering we've had leads of around 7+ goals in the last 3 games and only won them by half that, it's pathetic.

Saturday only highlighted how crap we are at 'finishing' teams off.

Anyone hear Robert Shaw on SEN about an hour ago? Explaned the mindset of the match committee that ultimately led to Sydney getting a run-on in the last quarter. He said that they decided to take two players that have both missed a month of football (the Johnsons) and a player who was sufferring from a knock he received on Anzac Day (Rioli). They thought the game was safe and didn't want to unnecessarily compromise the fitness of those players. They would have looked foolish if in the 28th minute of the game, one or both of the Johnson boys twang a hamstring. It was a player management issue.

You people are getting too carried away with the winning margin, without realising that the most important aspect is actually winning the game.

Winning form is good form, in my opinion. Percentage will take care of itself, based on the teams quality over 22 weeks. The percentage hasn't had a chance to "even out" yet after only 6 weeks. Sydney are also a very good team, remember.

Bingo.

There are more important things than a few extra % points when you're only in Round 6....

As long as we're winning, the percentage will take care of itself. Its only round 7. There is potentially ample amounts of opportunity in the coming weeks to build on our percentage with Adelaide (okay, we'll probably lose), Fremantle, Hawthorn and Geelong.

Percentage is not the problem.
We have beaten 5 **** teams unconvincingly (Syd beaten by Rich) and been mauled by two good teams.
We are not training ourselves well for finals by winning games through 5-10 minute burst of play, then giving up at 3/4 time.
We have to learn to put teams away, or we have absolutely no chance of matching it with the likes of St. Kilda, Brisbane, Port, and even Melbourne. Slack off for 5 minutes against any of these teams and GOODBYE BOMBERS!!!
