It's a beautiful morning.

This is a cliche and it is garbage if it is true...

Disgusting. From a leader.
I heard same thing after last round last year
Players were saying they knew we'd get touched up as they were all flat after losing to Eagles.
What sort of mentality exists at this club???

Correct and heard last night that posters on here suggesting he is happy with the pay check and doesnt give a toss are alarmingly close to the mark. Going to the reserves his attitude has been " still getting paid"..

So looks like we are stuck with Corr being best on for the oppo for now.
So that would be make our net result from all those 2nd round PPs about zero.

Given our awesome trading there, its no wonder why we essentially traded pick 2 for Daniels and a mid 2nd rounder.

The mentality of ‘being in games for longer’.

Results don’t matter. There’s always an out.

The slow, kick, mark, look for the perfect inside 50 kick game style certainly has it's place to reduce oppo scoring, but it is the fast, north ball style that catches defenders out of position and makes scoring easier, they have to change gears as required. How many times do teams like Bulldogs and * etc, torch us by getting the ball outside and going flat chat ?

90 tackles to 48 {20 inside 50 to 10} is frankly embarassing, and our abiltiy to break tackles also bog average.

l really didnt expect that last quarter.
l watched McDonald go to Elliot in the last quarter and he gave him 4 meters space. Thats not how backmen are suppose to play.
Our players just could not go with the PIes when it matered.
Stephens shocking kick hurt badly but that was in the 3rd quarter and we were still in it.
The Pies ran off their backline with ease with no defensive pressure from our forwards.
It's time for Daniel, Corr and McDonald to be dropped to the vfl but it wont all happen at once.
Powell is an enigma...He gets possessions but most of the time it doesn't hurt the opposition.
Mayley should still play in the seniors and not be used as a scapegoat. We looked better with him in the side just for his presence and he brings the ball to ground for our smalls.
We need to find a sub who can impact the game when he come on....Fisher isnt it but Ford could be..
l couldnt understand the logic of bringing in a running player like Fisher who is fresh and play him forward.
Sheezel is down on confidence BUT he needs to play back and not mid/ HFF.
Pink stays...
Hardeman is improving and we have found 1 with him...
FOS is improving and Wardlaw is a pleasure to watch...
Larkey is trying to hard to be involved in every forward move but should be used as a decoy on some occassions if getting beaten.
Xerri needs to learn how to change his tap to players half way through a ball up if neccessary and stop grabbing the ball.

so after all that l see a lot of improvement and feel we are still on the right track to win more games after the bye starting with the Weagles...

Guess after beating Richmond u18s last week in such a comprehensive manner we really didnt have much to prove this week. Completely understandable.

I agree with this.

We aren’t serious when we have a backline that has lmac, pink, Daniel and corr

The sooner we get Goater, ford, Logue and later on archer in the better
The main problem is our midfield’s defensive pressure for 4 quarters. It’s horrible.

Yes our backline needs work but their job would be a lot easier if our midfield put some heat on their opponent waltzing the ball out of the middle.. even a cigarette lighter amount would be a start..

That only works if players can get separation, are willing to gut run, overlap and have the skills to kick it within a 10m radius of the target.

Every rule change for a decade has been about speeding the game up, its almost like its a trend. Never let it be said we at North blindly follow trends.

40 point turnaround in a quarter…
Sure.

Although that is not this:

Game done before it starts. Carlton Anihilated is this year.

Yesterday we played two bloody good high pressure quarters. Hung tough in the third.
Faded and got opened up in the last.

Collingwood are a quality outfit that are well drilled will be at the pointy end of finals if not win the whole thing.

They’re at a stage of one out one in play your role and probably win.

We still carry geese like Corr and we’ve got a bunch of kids we want to be playing like they’re 50 games advanced from where they are.

a 40 point quarter doesn’t erase the three preceding it.

You want an annihilation vs Collingwood? 117 points on a wet MCG where they played like it was dry and Lindsay Thomas completely melted in front of goals. That was an annihilation. This meh better team out classed us.

The backline was like the little boy with his finger in the dike in the 3rd qtr.

The dike exploded in the last qtr.

Correct.

Tide turned in the third.

We completely lost touch in the last.

There were no gears - and that falls squarely on the Coaches.

I don't mind the slow keepings off game early to allow the team to settle but to persist with that all game was just plain dumb.

We suck at transition play.

We take too long to go forward and it's usually into a congested forward line.

They went polar opposite, flick it around, spread and surge into an open forward line.

We looked much more dangerous when moving the ball quickly. Funny that.

Some valid points here about the positives, they had a real crack last night but the end margin given Pies outs is a concern.

This season unfortunately has to been seen through the lens of the trade/draft night disasters last year and we have not even gone close to justifying those decisions. Whoever though giving up what we did (may yet be pick 1) should already be gone, otherwise we’re just going to repeat disaster after disaster and guess where we stay? Bottom 2.

Fisher was actually not too bad as the sub. He came on and at least provided some run.

But the coaches needed to sub one of the mids. Clearly, Wardlaw was absolutely cooked and we needed to make the call. Even more bizarrely, Powell lined up on the wing at stages.

The first half was brilliant. Fantastic pressure, absolutely took it up to a good team regardless of who they have out. 3rd was ok, I really felt we could have run away with it.

It’s sucks but all is not lost
We are already lost, have been for years. We just can't find out way back.
