95 Blues vs 00 Bombers
Lets ******* settle this already

80s hawks vs that melbourne side that lost to Geelong by 186 points.
Can't believe we went through all that tanking crap and that game was never looked at. Only game that has ever actually been thrown. That Melbourne side finished 11th though, weren't that bad. I'm pretty sure it was an attempt to get the CEO fired.

Yeah, nah. People look at Harmes with rose coloured glasses because he won a Norm Smith.
A good, honest footballer with good footskills. He was nothing overly special.
Played a game as a 17 year old and was done and dusted at 28.

If anyone doubts how good this side was, watch highlights of R4, 1982 - third quarter. I was too little to go, but my brother still has recurring nightmares about it.Awesome side that a lot of fans forget about in discussions of GOAT.
Spot on. Had a real nasty streak and would have loved the 80s.I actually think that Cats team would get better under 80s umpiring. Scarlett, Rooke, Chapman, Mooney, Hunt and Milburn were all hard as nails and would have cherished being able to cream blokes on and off the ball.
Would be a ripping contest.

Well no actually. Their 1 point win in 1999 PF was achieved with a Herculean performance from their best player against a Bombers side minus Hird who missed virtually the whole season. 2000 Essendon side with Hi rd on deck was so much stronger.Didn't the Blues settle this in 99'![]()

Probably favour 92/94. Though with Cox feeding the 05/06 midfield, as good as the 92/94 midfield was I think the later side would win the clearances. Could just come down to that McKenna, Jakovich, Worsfold half back line. Would likely easily contain and beat their opponents, springboarding attacks. If the 05/06 mids were committed forward, 92/94 would carve them up.Surely WCE 92/94 win this by a massive margin. That was a great side. Putt Judd on a wing please = Matera V Judd![]()
Yeah - Bulldogs at Waverley wasn't it? Michael Byrne kicked 8 on debut. Went to that one!Not to mention Hawthorn coming off a casual 150 point win the week before including an 11-goal third quarter... bit of a hard landing...
Geelong 07 would belt them - the 89 side were gutless snipers. Love to see Scarlett destroy that prick Bruns.I reckon Geelong 89 v Geelong 2007 would be popcorn-worthy. Right mixture of super high-scoring, genuine loonies, hard nuts, getting to see GAS and GAJ in a game.
Questions for the Cats fans - who goes to who in the 89 forward line, with Brownless, Stoneham and Ablett to cover? And where is Mark Yeates heading when the ball gets bounced?![]()
