I am seriously in need of some golf and I'm confronted with too many possibilities. Can anyone recommend a golf course that is 1) public, 2)better than a sheep paddock in quality, and 3) a reasonably short drive from the northwestern suburbs of Melbourne?

I won't mind paying a $30-40 green fee or so; I'm used to that at home.

I suppose if anyone is desperate for a golf partner they could call me up.

Agree with Hawkforce, Yarra Bend would be the go!!

18 holes for about 16 bucks - gets packed on weekends though - not sure about midweek

Thanks!

Might try Albert Park at some point too. I'd really like to play at Kingston Links but it's a long drive from here.

If your in for a day trip (or a weekend with your mates

) give the Dunes a try

Rated as THE best public golf course in the country!!!

Bit of a hike though (Behind Rye on the Mornington Peninsula) and pretty exxy!! (about $45.00)

But well worth the effort

have a look at www.ausgolf.com.au
