At limited over level?
In that case mitch marsh is front of the queue
Green was literally Australia's third highest run scorer in our last test series. Made more runs than Smith and Webster while practically opening. It was also his first test series in over a year, and he's just starting to bowl again. I highly doubt his spot is under threat

v the mighty WI who got rolled in 2 days? I get the love for green in the short form but he isn't a top 6 batsman he avgs 35 after 30 tests.

Harris was 3rd or 4th top run scorer v India once to. doesn't mean a lot imo

Thats fair enough I suppose but surely he isn’t dropped off the back of that. Webster is currently averaging 35 and no one seems to have an issue with that. Harris also doesn’t have a test match 174*. And pot the windies all you want but their bowling attack was pretty handy on those pitches to say the least. Anyone who watched knew runs weren’t easy to come by.

Steve Waugh’s average after 50 tests was 36.16

Steve Waugh’s average after 50 tests was 36.16

and voges avg 100 after 10 tests? that comment is so outdated.Just like how people claim he avgs 60 at state level having only played 5 times in 5 years at the level. I hope he proves me wrong i just don't see it ever happening

Pointless picking a side until at least round 3.

I'd say the side is pretty much settled, pending injuries.

The incumbent XI
Khawaja
Konstas
Green
Smith
Head
Webster
Carey
Cummins
Starc
Boland
Hazlewood

plus Marnus in the mix for Konstas/Webster (even though he's done nothing wrong)
and Lyon back in for the traditional make up of 3 quicks/1pin for Boland (again done nothing wrong) or Cummins.

Inglis and Kuhnemann are always going to be in the squad or around it (especially as possible concussion subs).

There might be one surprise selection at best.

The other guys are gonna have to wait unless things go pear shaped.

Shield form is important as opportunities will present in our next series in 8 months time v Bangladesh.

And opportunties will present as there are 20 tests in 12 months from that point until the end of the ashes series in England.

What does them getting rolled in two days have to do with the bowling attack he faced? The matches lasted 2 days because the WI bowling attack was also rolling through Australia, it was a high quality attack on extremely difficult batting pitches.

How does the West Indies batting relate to the bowling?

Jayden Seales averages 22 at Test level, Shamar Joseph averages 21 at test level and over the second half of his career Alzarri Joseph averages 28 at Test level. If we could catch and just had 1-2 batsmen make a half decent score in each test we’d have probably won the f**king series 😂😂

I rate WI bowling and feel you're pain watching them play but to quote green getting a few 40s v them as good reason for him to bat at 3 i couldn't disagree more. Wonder if WI can find another brandan Nash lol

So on one hand you rate their bowling but on the other you don’t rate scoring against it?

Uzzie
Weatherald
Green
Smith
Head
Webster
Carey
Cummins
Starc
Lyon
Hazelwood

Boland spare seamer
Lab spare bat

Rate it as in it's the Best WI skill set no where near the English/SA/India attack.
There quicks are better imo than the English quicks, SA probably has them covered.

It’s a strong bowling line up, especially on the pitches they dished up.
