Assistant Coaches

Let's take a look at our assistant Coaches, and who should get the chop and who we can bring in to replace them.

Theres the recent rumours of Peter Sumich joining us after quitting Freo. He would be a great addition as either a coaching director, head of development or even as a line coach (he was West Coasts mid coach when they won in 06)

Another option is bringing Leppa back if he is sacked by Brisbane (looking likely). The guy is a great line coach. He was the maker of Rance. Probably would have to coach maybe the forwards now though, with Truck doing a great job with the defenders (maybe they could go the other way around, not sure)

I think we also need to bring in a tactician from a team like Adelaide with great offensive ball movement, to replace Wilbur who has been deplorable in this role for us this year. Maybe if we can get in David Teague's ear, he'd probably be the best fit for such a role.

Youve left a fair few there from the current admin and bringing one back too after a completely failed senior gig.

Id be more for completely changing the current coaches, with the exception of maybe keeping Rutten.

I don't think failing as a senior coach makes you a poor assistant, and I do believe that Leppa is a strong assistant.

I've only left McRae, Choco, Smith and Truck.
Smith and Choco could go too. Smiths defensive structures this year haven't performed, but they have been very good in the past when the players work rates have been there, so I'm not sure. Choco seems to be highly regarded (see Dusty and Chappys retirement speech).

Another name that has just come to mind is Blake Caracella. He is senior assistant at Geelong and has been since about 2009 I think

I think the only way of getting Suma to Richmond would be to offer him a job like coaching director. I would happy enough if the club did that, he's seems to be a pretty good operator.

Need a proper midfielder as midfield coach and anyone involved with our forward line and the entry into the 50 can gtfo as well.

Fitness coach can go as well
Our development has been average at best for the majority.

If they insist on keeping dimma almost every assistant can walk

has that been announced or just spec, they also mentioned crows and read elsewhere we were interested. he s already been at wc, couldn't be to ambitious if he only wants for a job within 10 minutes of his joint

yze and teague would be massive signings , if the club could get them over the line. Both have had success in a couple of different assistant coaching roles.

He knows what he is doing, look what he did at the cats, surely eveyone can ne big boys and move on. Anyway just a suggestion, lets not start the whole essendon saga rubbish.
