Don't really watch enough WAFL over here to offer much of an opinion, but I'm surprised it's not someone a little more Freo-aligned, i.e. an internal appointment or someone like Mayney.

Mayne is playing for Perth next year. He can hardly coach Peel at the same time.

At least Freo are in a comp that theoretically gives you a shot at equalisation. Poor Perth are completely screwed by the s**t sandwich zone they're lumped with.

I coached two junior basketball teams in the same competition.

When they played I got two of the parents to coach the team and I became the score keeper.

Plus I was the referee manager and the competition organizer.

West Coast premiership forward Mark LeCras has returned to Fremantle’s coaching staff, while a long-term Eagles staff member has transitioned out of a football role.

It'd have to be a couple of sessions/week at least one would think. He'd be working on polishing their skills e.g. kicking, crumbing, set shots, leading patterns, etc. The main structural set ups and game plan will be taught by Graham and obviously Graham will be spending time with the talls on their skills e.g. set shots, marking, body work, leading, etc.

We have to remember that Le Cras is an extra resource that most clubs don't have so it's not unexpected that he's only part time. It's an area that requires work and the club is putting extra resources into it.

The thoughts on here that replacing Hale will be a panacea are way off the mark; our forward line woes predate Hale. But adding quality players e.g. Amiss and Erasmus, further development of Treacy, an available Sturt, and getting extra help in coaching shows that we're finally working on it and the results will eventually come.

It's getting there and certainly the best that we've been able to muster together for a few years, but in comparison to the top teams, its' still a bit off.

So we've drafted key talls with goal-kicking prowess, appointed a proven forwards coach and now a part-time specialist coach who was a dead-eye in front of goal.

Even before this draft we had more or less given Hale a completely new forward line hadn't we?

Lobb, Hogan, Schultz, Switkowski, Sturt.

Okay they were only available every other day at best, but... where's our premiership cup?
