Some observations from watching training today:

The Dec. Almost untackleable in said gather / avoid tackler drill, which to me seemed specifically designed to work on the mechanics of quick feet and side-stepping. I liked the drill, particularly whilst no one could catch the Dec (mostly spitta). (Higgo's group wasn't tackling, Dec's group were). We've found one here people. Absolute jet, will play plenty this year.

Big Pruessy. 100% we have our long-term successor to Goldy. Marking everything, lean and fit, looks like our #1 a lot of the time if you didn't know any better. Not sure if this year is his year but whenever he takes the mantle (my guess by 2018) he'll be a beauty.

Mason looks F . I . T. as a bull. Moving beautifully, big year ahead.

Loooove the Rat. Agree with Arjen that he's underrated by some. Lock him in for as many games as he's fit for, oozes smarts.

Marley 'Bobby' Williams looks to have fitted in well, has great wheels both straight line and sideways.

Zurhaar is a bull, bit to work with. Williams is RAZOR thin!

Durds looks fit and strong, noticeably bigger body. Only down side was he had the fumbles, preseason though so whatevs I guess.

Higgo looks awesome, movement is back, same for Jet.

Maj looks like Maj (fraction lighter?), as does JZ, Taz, JMac, Ats etc. Maj will be 40+ this year, will make FF his own.

Cunners is a little leaner, still looks slow but the fact we have buckets of younger pacier guys around him now wouldn't help.

One from left field, I reckon Larkey will be a ripper. Skinny as a bean but moves beautifully for a 6'6"er. Early call I know but I'm getting on the train, ready for departure around 2019.

Also, state of ground is overstated, should be fine come Feb.
I'm presuming you're referring to Declan Mountford?

You're right. A poorly umpired preliminary final is "not even close".

People forget how badly that game was umpired. If it had of been Collingwood there would have been an internal investigation. I'm not one to usually blame umpires for a loss, but that game was farcical. If that game had of been umpired adequately it would have been a toss of a coin result.
In saying that we wouldn't have got close the following week.

Yeah, but the Dogs weren't going to get close to Sydney in the GF this year, either.

Very quick feet, super elusive side step.
One of the biggest critiques of him by Pies supporters is that the "super elusive sidestep" he used so effectively 2-3 years ago became way too predictable last season. I get the feeling we will both love & hate this sidestep as 2017 progresses.

That could of been due to the fact that Collingwood dont have much quality in their back half so Marley was trying to do to much when he got it?

Might also be due to his relationship with Bucks which soured this year apparently
Not surprising. Collingwood's "Floreat Pica" motto translates roughly to "those who refuse the wristie must pay the price".

Is that Fordham to the right of Clarke in the bottom right photo? Looks to have put on some serious size.
Preuss looks like an imprisoned KGB agent who's managed to escape.

All aboard the Preuss Goose!

I feel Marley will cop some unfair criticism early on, like Dal Santo did before him.

"He's not one of us", I remember a few twits saying. Yes, he is, he wears RB&W.

This will only be exacerbated with the trimming of the list over the off season, people will be putting him under the microscope for every action and expecting him to be the second coming of jeebus.

Garner looks great. Was sprinting laps and handing out a few sledges along the way. Was rather regal in his approach ans the boys seemed to know they shouldn't get in his way.

Has some presence the boy.

Yeah yeah I'm a shit judge, but Hibberd is just a perfect size, we are a very tall team these days (minus Hrovat the midget) A whole heap of 6'2+ blokes in ripping condition. We look fast, clean and most importantly is a distinct difference in voice on field compared to the last time I was lucky enough to witness training.

As for Preussy, not quite Sandilands level, but very much in the Mumford mould IMO. Just an enormous unit. Looks scary too with the shaved head.

I would have thought he gets games next year should Goldy go down. I'm not sure they can both play in the same team but you never know.
Please stop talking dirty to me Arjen......please , stop , don't , stop , dont stop , please don't stop !!
