He batted well for his 74 though.

I will make another prediction. Australia will bat again. We may not have much to chase, but I reckon we will bat again in this match.

Good recovery from South Africa, and we may have to bat again, however it would need a miracle for South Africa to win.

The ACB would be very happy as they'll be able to have another day of profit tomorrow, when it was looking like the game would be over by stumps today.

Kallis, Kirsten and McKenzie will have to make most of the runs if we are to bat again. Kirsten looked a lot better today. Kallis generally plays Warne well and has performed in the other two second innings this series.

Good comeback by the Boks! If they can slog out Day 4 the ACB might even be able to get the crowds to come on the final day of play (if required). The first session tomorrow will be the key, if Australia doesn't get 2 or 3 wickets I've got a feeling we'll have to bat again - hopefully not chasing anything around the 120 mark, a la 1993.

I was thinking the same thing just an hour ago. We were in a winning position and should of won in India, but surely it can't happen to us again, especially at home!

But the Boks got us in 1993 when we were only chasing a small total. 2 days of good test match cricket to follow.

Player of the Series

Whilst Hayden as the leading run scorer (ie. 403 runs @ 107.5) would have been my choice for player of the series, how unlucky is Martyn topping both the batting (ie. 299 runs @ 149.5) & bowling (1 wicket @ 4) averages for both sides?

Also, interesting that Aussies only had 3 batsmen averaging over 40 for the series. Is it time for Ponting to be swapped with Martyn in the order, &/or should someone else (eg. Katich, Lehmann, Love) come in for M Waugh?
