Virtually a full squad of Australian players will be Darwin from tomorrow in part of their preparation for their matches against Pakistan and the T20 WC. Up 29 players from all formats of the game will be in town with spin friendly wickets to be produced. They're playing two internal 50 over matches, one on Sunday and the other on Tuesday. Hopefully the public gets behind it and a good crowd turn out.

Aus beat Aus A in first match. Good to see Wade crack 59 I think. Warner also got amognst it with 64. Good old Hadds was back and captained 'a'. No idea how he went. Clarke made 47, Bear is back and made 39 for 'a'.

Haddin nicked off second over. The Aussie A's weren't much chop to be honest and were for 4 for 30 odd at one stage. Hilfenhaus bowled well enough for them, but setting 184 for the Aussies was never going to be enough. No one got going and no one tried to take on the bowling. Maxwell and Doherty both bowled with relative comfort. The pitch is deliberately spin friendly and slow but Wade smacked them from ball one, as they opened with Krejza and then tried O'Keefe and Hauritz, but they all copped some tap. O'Keefe dropped a tough caught and bowled chance off Clarke and split his webbing in the process.

Hopefully the Aussies bat first tomorrow. Play starts at 10am.

This is actually a fantastic idea. Glad to see they're taking the prep so seriously. I'm guessing you guys with the scores attended the games as there would be no way to follow it online I presume.

A few articles online on it was how I found out. Agree it's an excellent idea.

They did a mixed up game for the second with Clarke's XI vs Bailey's XI. Bailey's XI batted first and posted 214. Maxwell with 49 and Mitch Marsh I think with 48. Bowlers shared it around. Clarke's XI did it pretty easy with 70 odd not out to Ferguson. Warner was run out at one stage obstructing the field and was sent back after Clarke told them to get him out properly. He was run out the next over direct hit. Hauritz, Boyce, Krejza, Maxwell and Doherty all got overs for each side.
