Easty has struggled since the three way tie all those many rounds ago so the odds would suggest his time is done. Round 16 - Okeydoke7

After reviewing all 17 rounds of the home and away season in The OkeyJoke Medal thread, my review is a little lethargic. This and the last minute nature of my description may lead to viewer disappointment. Viewer discretion is advised. Not recommended for audiences hoping to be entertained or interested by content. Parental Guidance is recommended for Andonis.

Round 16 was an exciting time in the SFA. The penultimate round of SFA football saw some important contests that would shape the final 4. And this Mobb Medal count could be decided by the vote getters in this round.

Before I get to the matches we should have a quick look at what was doing the rounds of the SFA. Well, I wrote the match threads that round and did a pretty good job of it. The OkeyJoke Medal was a talking point. Oh and by the end of the week I had finished off possibly my most in-depth media piece in my SFA history: Lies, Contradictions and Ego Stroking: A Flogcutter Story. But this is the Mobbs Medal, so i'd best get over myself for a bit (I did warn at the start that this may derail). Mobbs himself was quite up and about during the week leading up to this round...He kept letting us know that the Roys had all 22 posters post in the match thread. Big effort, RoyBoys. The Roys lost to the hawks.

On that note... (copyright not adhered to):

Roys FC 12.13 (85) lost to East Side Hawks 14.10 (94)
It was a battle of two teams that wouldn't feature in september. The game itself was a good one, relatively free flowing but with enough contests to keep the purists happy. The Hawks supporters were happier, having won in a tight game. Pantskyle was enormous, but he wasn't alone. The Hawks had plenty of good individuals, and they combined nicely for a win. Pants could be joined by Karnezis, TTG and Akkaps as potential vote getters for the Mobb Medal.


Baghdad Bombers 7.11 (53) defeated Mount Buller Demons 6.5 (41)
It was another low scoring game for the Bombers but it produced another good result, with a solid win against the Demons. The Demons were in desperate need of a win, and this loss ultimately ruled them out of the finals. A late fightback made the margin more respectable for the mighty fighting Dees. Gee Dub was sensational for the Bombers and was a likely vote getter, with TPM and Fumbler strong for the victors. The new skipper, Eth, may poll for a solid Mobb Medal like performance.


Geelong Gumbies 11.11 (77) lost to Fighting Furies 14.14 (98)
The Furies had a big win in a game that meant little to the green men. The win was important for the Furies, desperate for finals action. But their main midfield man, Eagleoz, was somewhat subdued. The Gumbies had an unlikely best afield, with Mr Gor committing himself. But the interest was on the midfield battle, which the Furies won comfortably. Wotdoiput, Grockadock and ABH could all feature in Mobbs votes.


Southern Dragons 14.13 (97) defeated West Coast Wonders 13.9 (87)
And so we conclude with the Dragons and the Wonders. The game itself was a beauty, with the Dragons fighting a big deficit back to a tight margin. Both of these clubs would feature in finals, and it was evident why. Wise Guy Sam was absolutely massive for the Wonders, and was given first possession by the Burger. On the Dragons side of the ledger, it was MD and pals that secured the win through the midfield.

So for those of you who are mathematically challenged that means that Round 17 will now essentially be useless as it is my great pleasure to announce that the winner of the Mobbenfuhrer Medal for Season 15 is the West Coast Wonders superstar Wise Guy Sam. Easty, Eagleoz83 and royboy2 have all been valiant in their attempts to topple Wise Guy but he is officially the cream of the crop for Season 15. Robbie Waterhouse was last seen heading for the West Gate Bridge as this is the worst possible result for his bookies bag.
Having said that we still should go with Round 17 and we will look to Eth to bring us home in the final round.

What an anticlimactic round it was. Seriously, we’re talking Round 17 here, where teams clash for do-or-die spots in the finals, teams attempt to shrug off the wooden spoon or battle it out in epics for the coveted minor premiership. But jeez, loopy_cam, you could have me it interesting, other than the Dragons choking on a double chance, **** all happened in the overall scheme of things. So chances are this will be quite an ordinary preview. I apologise. Ain’t my fault.

Here’s what happened throughout the round.

East Side Hawks 13.3 (81) def by Baghdad Bombers 14.7 (93) @ Waverley Park

Sixth versus first at Waverley and jeez, you could smell the redundancy. Matt121 tried a different font and misspelling a teammate’s name to garner attention, HARPSicho (sic) busted ruours of rigging the sim while beez spoke in a different language to confuse the Hawks, which came to fruition as the Bombers won by 12 points in a shit match. Although, in the context of the medal, there was a fair spread of contributors for both sides, which could well and truly shake things up. Rhodesy_Blues also did not submit a preview.

The Notables
HARPSichord (Hawks): Moved into the ruck and blossomed, with 15 disposals, 14 hitouts and a couple of sausage rolls. The best player on the day and he’d be unlucky to miss the three votes.
Gee Dub (Bombers): Found the footy fourteen times, with some sexy alliteration, did the on-baller whilst also kicking a goal. It’s unlikely to see him poll, but by no means rule him out.

The Wonders defeated the Roys comfortably in a genuinely expected result but Jesus the thread was long, I mean, my God, I'd try to read through the entire thing in an attempt to point out a bunch of foibles and stir shit and whatnot but holy trombone on a pogo stick that is just absolutely ridiculous. You all have too many posters. No wonder we're expanding the friggin' league. Making me jealous of the fact that I tag my teammates and **** all happens. But okay. Mobbenfuhrer made me laugh. Many times. I could probably do a link for every character in this sentence. Besides that, everybody spammed, especially pantskyle, so being the hypocrite that I am, you're all useless. Rhodesy_Blues also did not submit a preview.

The Notables
Wise Guy Sam (Wonders): 18 disposals and 8 tackles - an average day in the park for the new co-captain. However, his average is that good that it could very well snag him a vote.
Freakie (Roys): Freakie. wat r u doin. Freakie. stahp. He sucks at CoD and he probably sucks at Battlefield despite claiming otherwise but on the football field, he actually does okay. 27 disposals, 5 marks and I assume 5 rogue flykicks is a fair effort.

THE CELLAR DWELLERS FOUGHT IT OUT IN AN EPIC OF A BLOCKBUSTER OF A DERBY OF A SHOWDOWN OF A BLAST OF A CONTEST! Okay, with your attention towards what follows a capital letter abuse and a blatant lie, the Dees ousted the Gumbies in a match everybody may as well tanked, being then-seventh versus eighth. Juggs went off, lanky_wes made a shocking comparison with his Dees and nobody could understand StFly, so everybody gave up. Rhodesy_Blues also did not submit a preview.

Claypigeon (Gumbies): Clay went cray, and ended up with 16 disposals, although a few other fair performances from opponents and teammates may hold votes from him. The reigning co-Medallist impressed everybody.
Eth (Demons): Having previously desired to preview Round 17 for the Mobbenfuhrer Medal night it was clear that his attention was elsewhere, with a poor 8 disposals. The reigning co-Medallist impressed nobody.

A cert of a win, in that case, featuring Broken switching sides, twice, Easty had a rare* issue posting, and Silent Alarm made an absolute shithouse reference to a meme, but regardless, a game was played and some people from some teams did something. Rhodesy_Blues also did not submit a preview.
