Alright, d-heads. I have to look at my phone under the table so my wife doesn't see. You'll get a pick as soon as I can sneak off.
Could be a great dinner table conversation. Get everyone involved

I've wondered how other competitors family and friends react when you tell them you're involved in an fantasy off season draft comp on a footy forum......

I showed them all my spreadsheets. They were suitably impressed.

My idea for a way to access bacons players fairly

I will sit out for the purpose of this game and not draft.

Bacons players
Josh Kennedy (Sydney) 4 draft picks
Stefan Martin (Brisbane) 3 draft picks
Rory Lobb (GWS Giants) 3 draft picks
Steele Sidebottom (Collingwood) 2 draft picks
Nick Haynes (GWS Giants) 2 draft picks
Jack Martin (Gold Coast) 2 draft picks
David Armytage (St Kilda) 2 draft picks
Mitch Wallis (Western Bulldogs) 1 draft pick

Right the rules
Using draft picks only, teams may bid to access these players via a mini draft.

- To successfully bid, teams must submit a package of draft picks that match the draft pick value that has been allocated to each player.
- If 10 teams bid 4 draft picks, the team with the lowest combined value of draft picks will be awarded first pick. for eg. #244, #280, #412, #500, these picks add up to 1436 points.
- If you win a place in the draft you will only lose those draft picks if you decide to draft. You can pull out at any time and keep the bidded draft picks.
- If you win 1st@ selection, you do not have to select Josh Kennedy, you can select any of the players listed and you will only lose the draft pick value of that player.
- Players drafted will automatically be taken from the first draft pick bid in your bidding package
- all draft picks lost will be re allocated at the end of main draft excluding the pick used in the draft to pick up the player. for example #244 was the first pick so it will be used to draft the player while #280, #412 and #500 shifted to last in the draft order.
- You do not have to bid
- If only 1 player bids they get sole pick and every one else misses out.

I suggest we suspend the draft for 12 hours from 9pm until 9am to allow for bidding.

Note: If no one bids, these players will remain of limits for the remainder of the game.

I take all my stuff with me when I go out. lol. My picks come up and I have had to sit in my car a few times while the wife is shopping. Very expensive habit. Wives shouldn't be left unsupervised with the credit card.

Gee in America, fantasy fans run their own drafts and trades with massive parties etc yet we can't muster up ample enthusiasm to make this game interesting. Ive had 2 picks in the last 4 days. it gets pretty boring at times.
I think you've just got a different take on what adds interest compared to others

It's a draft game and the beauty is in the simplicity IMO. Also the fact that it moves slowly and you don't have to spend hours glued to the screen trying to follow trades and stuff is a strength. Means you can play alongside work, family, social commitments.

I like the draft pick idea, but we're gonna need a bit of notice, we can't just do it tonight.

Do it tomorrow, or night after if you want to do it.

Picks allocated to average time spent to take a pick.
That's a terrible idea. Cos other than Christmas Eve, I was right here the whole time. :)

It's a good idea and you obviously put a lot of thought into this. However I think it will be really hard to implement and there will be some people that feel cheated that others got top tier picks for very little. With so many people it will be very hard to balance. It's a shame that Bacxit happened but we may just have to call those players a loss and move on.

I agree with this, the players are unfortunately a loss.
