The Primate cage at the Melbourne Zoo has reported an escape.

Unconfirmed sightings somewhere in the Northern suburbs.

" Welcome back my darling, you have been missed"

" I thought we may have had to leave you here in B Grade"

" Quick, my back awaits you"

Marcellin played very well today and completely shut down Old Essendon. OEG probably left their run too late when they made their comeback in the final quarter. What Marcellin did was they completely rattled Old Essendon, to the point where the Bombers never got going at all. True, injuries did strike at the worst time for the Bombers, but take nothing away from Marcellin. Quite simply, they were excellent.

Very very disappointed today. Expected much better. I was with the OEG faithful behind the goals, even the banter was fairly lacklustre towards the end, although "Now THAT shut you up, Manbag!" from the feral kid got a giggle.

Ah well, off to the presentation night, catch y'all at the Wick tomorrow for the last footy action of the year.

Could they leave B section any other way??? They just had to choke again at the final hurdle. Too many passengers.
Marcellin too strong at the contest and followed instructions. Crapper was sensational but the kid with the dreads they call Augustine played out of his skin. Maybe Handley was right at the 3/4 time huddle last year when he told a few home truths.....

well done to the marcellin lads, nobody gave them a chance

I gave them a chance, just couldn't bring myself to tip against the favorites!
3 weeks ago I said that they were the big shorteners in the market, and earlier this week I did say that Marcellin were OEG's worst result because the eagles match up so well against them.
My congratulations to Marcellin and commiserations to OEG

Top 5 well earn't - good to see 'Old Man' Haynes still polling well, however biggest surprise to me was the poor votes for Crapper who should have racked up a few to mid-season.

This guy is fantastic - how the umpires missed him this year is just incredible. Really showed them up today with a fantastic game - well done young fella.

Also my big DC - your loyal posters have stuck by you this year big fella against some very very crude comments from some 'very fat' posters in Handle, and that weak Pr*ck who wanted your head at the tribunal on a charge that was thrown out.

Crapper is a star and will easily fit into A Grade and give his team some drive.

Congratulations TBP.

You put it on the line against the doubters all year and over recent days and your team produced the goods today to shut them out - thread maybe void of a few Snowdogies over the next 2 weeks - same as the OH boys after previous week.

The dual coaching effort I think may have forged a new scenario in VAFA footy especially when they gell like your boys did today.

End of the day, just a dominate display in a high grade of VAFA footy and the icing on the cake will come in 2 weeks no problems there.

No problems at all.....

The one thing that stood out for me watching today's B Section Grand Final was the extreme pressure Marcellin put Old Essendon under. The Eagles stuck to their gameplan and it worked well for them. Also the fact was that Marcellin used the windy conditions a lot better than what the Bombers did, especially in the 3rd quarter. In fact, when the Bombers made a belated comeback in the last quarter Marcellin had Old Essendon under control. I wonder, how would Marcellin & Old Essendon go in A Section in 2009?

Old East Keilor Grammar: D Grade to A Grade = ZERO FLAGS!

Enough said!

Have your day all you armchair critics,OEG will be competitive in A. section and whether you like it or not we are in A section.Congratulations to marc. you won it fair and square,by far the best side on the day.You shut down all the OEG stars, well planned and i have no problems with the result.
Again the wind ruined a good game of footy,Umpires average to both sides,Marc got their frees in front of goal, stiff for us. The little blond bloke seemed rattled after the blu, overeacted against the oeg.
It does not matter how you climb the mountain as long as you get there and you do it fair and square.Apart from the twos winning the gf the only redeeming feature is seeing all the snipers still in B section.

get around the eagles. they were harder at it today and wanted it more the OEGs thought it would just happen, chris the grandson of gorden played well but jas carlson who the OEG snipped stepped up and kept putting his head over it esp that last play on the wing when the cat was near him (skurrie).

U know what Mark Willams Said to Scott. Handles U WERE WRONG!!!!!!!!

Both teams should do well in the top flight, provided they add to their stocks over summer and don't loose too many they should stay up. Eagles have the advantage of knowing what's required and OEG will do well I'm sure as they really have something to prove now, not only to themselves but to the reputation that's growing a bit out of hand.

No doubt the knives will be out for OEG after yesterday's loss, actualy they already are going on earlier posts but the fact of the matter is OEG were outplayed by a better team on the day... and that's no choke!

Was good to see big Daniel Cullinan showing some 'lightning' speed on ground as well...:D

well done Eagles a well deserved A grade promotion and PREMIERSHIP!

I don't think Old Essendon 'choked'. I think it was more of the extreme pressure the Marcellin players put the Bombers under yesterday that led to Old Essendon's defeat. Every Old Essendon disposal (whether it was a kick or a handpass) was made under enormous pressure by the Eagles. Also injuries had a hand in the Bombers loss as well.

Merts,
I still believe OEG have the talent to mix it in A Grade, but this failure raises the perennial question about their mental toughness and the coaching staff?
Haileyb and Bernards went in clearly below their best with injuries and ommissions of key players but OEG went in with their best and fresh from the break? Sure they got a couple injured during the game but the glaring problem was that they were out coached.
How could the OEG coaches not have seen the dangers of playing Marc in the wind the week before. Coaches panicked and lost the unlosable.

You might say flags dont matter but that is what every club in the country plays for - no one looks at photos of runners up or has has reunions for losing

Everybody at oeg must take responsibity of a lost chance that is going hard to repeat in the short term.
Marc.played the conditions far better, with wind they kicked it long and quick, time and again and got crucial goals, Grammar played as if there was no wind, short pass after shortpass, pressure on them all the time.

Skurrie etc found the wind impossible and were teamed by punching backs.
OEG all year slaughtered sides when they had the wind, yesterday all that went out window! This one hurt, really hurt. This one hurts because we had the side to do it,make no mistake.
To Marc,I admire you guts and determination,to the bloke with the dread locks id go to war with you anyday.Look forward to beating you in A section.Congatualations to your club, well done.

Merton, I'm assuming you think it is the honourable thing to continue posting and not dissapear off this forum just because you lost. But honestly pal, do yourself a favour, with every post you write the agony that is going to be with you all summer comes through. You can pretend that all is not lost because your going into A section and you'll be really competative and blah blah blah, but in reality that doesnt make it hurt any less. You and the club are in for another haunted summer, come November/December when every one has moved on, you will still have moments where you think about the game and what you could of done differently. I expect a long winded reply from yourself rebutting everything I have said, but all that will do is re-affirm to me and everyone else here how terrible you feel and will feel for a while.

Yes your right i am dissappointed,it wont haunt us either.Who are you to criticise me.A grade is some consulation, we will move on for sure, most clubs would gladly take our position.I do not have to rebutt anything, partiulary you.Your post shows you are of little consequence and have no class or integrity and you do not deserve any more of my precious time.
