Yeah I'd say Lower is fairly safe given his solid performances in the last couple of games. No point dropping Palmer back to the WAFL to 'find form' so soon either; it'd do more harm than good.

Crichton and Pearce would be much closer to the edge.

Still not sold on Roger being best 22 at this stage of his career, but I think he's a slight upgrade on Roberton and can free up Broughton to play a more offensive game - which can only be a good thing! :thumbsu:

This is the point where the respective BF buddy's of Jesse and Clancee tell us that Barlow does not simply walk into the side, but has to earn it!

I'd love to see them try and justify it :p

I think Rodger should play as a forward, we need someone else with a bit of class up there. He knows enough about defence to provide some pressure the other way too.

So if Micky is back in a few weeks and so is Roger, who makes way?

I don't think Palmer and Lower should go from the 22 to make way for MB. Could be the likes of Chricthon, Pearce and Pitt that will miss out.

For Roger to slot back into the ole HB could see Roberton miss out even push Broughton on the ball, a move to HF isn't out of the question for Dodgy Rodger.

Chrichton and Roberton/Crowley

reading the WORST this morning, vossy stated he has no doubts about barlow returning to the footballer he was, prior to barlow breaking his leg. could it be a double whammy for us in 3 weeks time.sandi & barlow back.:D

A Sandi, Barlow and Roger simultaneous return would be huge. Not just for the class and skill brought back to the side but the confidence and team morale it would bring. Let's just hope we don't lose anyone else before then :o

After watching the press conference, I can safely admit I have never had such a man crush on anybody as much as Barlow :heart:

OMG you have stolen my thoughts, although I would admit to having a big girlie crush on MB instead.
Even though he has only played 13 & 1/2 games I swear he is a champ. Loyal and trustworthy. If he was a dog, he'd be a lab/retriever for sure!

Is anybody going down to watch him play on the weekend? I'm hoping to persuade hubby to go and I'll be taking a big box of tissues as I'm sure I'll be crying tears of joy when he takes the field.

I agree. I have said this in the past, much like Wirra did in the later stages of his career. Hayden's pace is probably the question mark. He always had such fantastic skills that he could pinpoint a target within tight quarters. Coming out of defence these passes did not find their target on occasion and it was a clanger error.

He has to be less explorative with decisions these days which is a shame, as he used to free up players and setup good offensive attacks, rather than the possession game we resort to now. Harvey has already thrown him forward on occasion with results.

Back to thread, Barlow was the reason I booked GF flights last year. 3 days later the injury occured and I knew it would be down hill. The times have changes and within weeks we may have Barlow, Sandi, Hayden. They will not have a huge impact though

This news all sounds great. We wont really know how he's travelling until he's done a few WAFL games, but all good so far. Watching him play some footy is going to ease what are likely to be a few painful weeks of as far as results go over the next month or so.

Keep at it Barlow, you're a champ :thumbsu:

those scars on his leg make me feel sick, but also represent how courageous he is. hopefully, when he is back, that attitude will spread through the team and translate into success

can someone please, if they can be bothered or know how to, put together a visual highlights package of micky B playing this saturday.i'm sure alot of freo faithful would be very grateful.

This. Times a million.

Hopefully someone from the club heads down from the media team, if not I'm guessing there will be the likes of Ch9 or even ABC with a camera to get some footage for a sports news headline that I would expet to be aired national ;)

It was a nice fluff piece wasnt it?

Took the attention off how shit we are at the moment.

Fine PR, hope he is well though.

really really hope they avoid the temptation to bring in barlow this week. needs more time in the WAFL. i hope they bring him back at our next home game v Brisbane. he will no doubt get the massive roar that cousins got when he returned for the eagles

Just thinking out aloud here, but what would be the difference using him as the sub for a quarter at AFL level at home, rather than a full WAFL game?

The boost to the team and the lift from the crowd would be amazing, especially if it's close.

Anyway, other than that, I'm a supporter of "the process", including sticking with the ramp-up programme for Barlow.

The intensity i guess, though putting him in the final quarter when everyone's tired kinda helps lessen the chance of complications or another injury.
