The bloke is pathetic.

One of the most naturally gifted batsman in the country and he's pissing his talent up against the wall. He doesn't care, obviously.

**** him off, and don't get him back until he's lost his vast quantities of blubber.

No work ethic, and his national career is looking down the toilet.

He's even fatter than he was when they told him to go and lose weight the first time.
hang on people.

everyone's getting stuck into Cossie but he did nothing wrong this game.

can't really blame a guy for being twice the victim of incompetent/pathetic umpiring.

I'm getting stuck into him because it frustrates me to see someone with such a ridiculous amount of talent, pissing his career up against a wall.

Have to agree with Nip. Cossie is a whale but he's a much better chance of getting the job done than any of the other batsmen.

I reckon I could play better than half the Redbacks side.

In fact, my dog could play just as well as them :p:p:D

At this rate the SACA is going to have to PAY people to watch this rabble

How bout a name change - Redback-less

That is true, and the pathetic state of the Domestic side, probably contributes to him being a lazy bastard.

He's going to get selected no matter what.... because who else is there?

Doesn't have to work for it.

As a South Australian, I am really disappointed at our performance against Victoria in our opening match of the 07/08 season. All out for 77. PATHETIC!!!! Last night K.G. and Cornesy were saying that the VICs had left the door open for us. Maybe Cameron White knew that we SUCK SO BAD. Drop them all and chuck in a Woodville side or a Tea Tree Gully side. I am sure they would do better that crap performance.

OUR REDBACKS HAVE NO VENOM!!!

Woddville or TTG?

West Torrens more likely.

Picking th same clowns week in week out doesn't help.

AS soon as Adcock was picked as SKipper it all went wrong. HE can't hold his place, let alone captain the side. Dizzy should have got it.

A few thoughts...

What is the status on Tom Plant and Callum Ferguson? Plant certainly deserves a look in at opener - did he not make 100+ in grade cricket in the last game? We needed Ferg to step in and kick asses over the last two seasons and he hasn't delivered, but I'm keeping faith in him too.

It's tough to do a massive clean out... we don't have a lot else on offer. The likes of James Smith, Corey Knight are talented juniors... but so are/were the guys who form the bulk of the side at the moment - Cossie, C. Borgas, Bailey, Cullen, Plant, Ferguson all went through together. We may have to stick it out with that group instead of getting rid of everyone every time we embarass the state.

It's also interesting to note that three of the current support coaches spent a long time with a lot of those players through State juniors and school cricket. I don't know if that's such a healthy scenario.

I was on the C. Borgas for skipper wagon earlier, and I'm not ready to leap off yet.

Manou and Adcock would be my first cuts, but we haven't seen any hard decisions thus far, why would we see them now.

Jimmy Smith has been working extremely hard in the off season, unfortunately for the Redback he was on tour with the Australian U/19's and as such has had limited match practice. He plays grade cricket this weekend.

Knighty was in Darwin over the winter playing cricket. Looking good btu gettin out for starts. See how he goes this weekend.

AAron Sayers has made back to back A grade 100's as a 21 year old. He and his younger brother Chad are both a chance to debut this year.

Maybe Bunga Hurn wants a redbacks game in the off-season

PATHETIC AND DISGRACEFULL!

That pretty much summarises the collective point of view right now. I hope the Vics bat first on Friday night. If not i won't get to see any of it:eek:

First game of the year, all out to impress..........

No backbone and I sometimes wonder if there is a care factor.

77 is shamefull and thats in the 2nd dig, when the game is gone and its about pride and digging in.

Well, no pride there

agreed

the warning signs were there months ago when adcock was announced captain. What other state would sack one of the best current cricket brains in the world for a guy who has not consolidated a spot in 6+ years for Australia's worst side?

It beggers belief.

Heres hoping James Smith goes alright with the bat this weekend, pity its only a one dayer.

Why are we persisting with Manou? His batting is not up to scratch. Got to be Deitz who can bat wit the tail or blood a young keeper.

Can't really drop Adcock after 1 game as captain.

Daniel Harris looks better as an opener with Elliot & give us a better chance of getting off to a good start. Would then free up a middle-order place for Boof or Ferguson.

Deitz is regularly seen out on the town during weekends not being able to walk in any sort of direction. I dont think the selectors are all that happy with his attitude hence him not being selected.

Adcock as a thinker is very good, he knows how to captain a side.... he just isnt that great a cricketer. Dan Harris does have to open as thats where IMO he is very much suited.

Cosgrove is a disgrace. How can he honestly dispute that decision in the 2nd Innings ?? He guy is obviously so fat he cant see below his stomach to work out where he is.

But really this all comes down to the limpness of our grade cricket. The standard has dropped off so much and its time to cull a few team, or at least merge them so guys actually have to fight for their spots instead of being giving them.

Dan Harris is much better as an opener, he did well there last season.
You are right about the grade cricket, far too many teams so the competition is weak and we get blokes coming through who have never really been challenged before.

Tasmania's grade cricket is exceptionally weak, not a patch on the standard we have here. Yet they won the shield last season.
