What the hell is with all the idiots in Bay 13?

I mean they are just stupid, it was funny at times, but when you notice the fact that they hardly even care whats going on in the cricket, and are just bagging supporters, calling police ****ers for taking their beach ball etc. you realise just how much of an idiot every one of them really is.

And it reflects badly on the whole of the MCG crowd when it is claimed that the stadium is the worst behaved in Australia.

Why dont they just learn to support their team and stop causing trouble?

232 arrests in one night is just over the top.

Why are so many people against others having a good time? No one gets hurt when u throw water and plastic cups in the air, so why the big fuss??? If anyone starts throwing hard objects then I would complain, but for crying out loud, all this fuss over water and paper!!!! Whenever I go to the cricket I sit there with all my mates and we have a great time. Not for a second have I ever been the slightest bit concerned for my safety. No one throws anything that could hurt in the air, so it's not really a problem. If u don't like it, u don't have to sit there. Or better still, listen to the game on the radio...

Yep, couldn't agree more and one wonders why they spend their $20 or $30 to go to the games when they're not really interested in the game and for that matter where they're actually getting $20 or $30 from looking at the lack of intelligence from "some" of them!!

Do you walk into McDonalds & start throwing water & paper in the air ?
Do you go to the tennis & start throwing water & paper ?

If you don't do it any of those,why do it at the cricket ?

Thats exactly right I always sit in that area and have only ever seen one person hurt and that was 4 or 5 years ago and was because someone off the top deck was throwing stuff.The people sitting there do care about the result they just want to have a bit of fun to.If you go to the cricket and you know the bay 13 area are going to be like that then why would you sit there.

On the spot fines, and stricter bag searches are new security measures that will take place. I am not sure if that will start this season, or next season. The ACB also want to discuss with the state government about the possibility of increasing fines for people who run on to the ground. I also believe that their has been talk of not selling wines or spirits at bay 13 anymore, and not allowing anyone to buy anymore than 2 light beers at a time. At the moment, you can buy four beers at a time. And if things don't improve, they may not sell any light beer at all at bay 13.

I was sitting their, and it will never happen again. I will not put up with drunks throwing Orange juice, and beer at me in the future. Would they get away with this if it was in the streets? If not, then why should they get away with it at the Cricket?

I reckon they go too far....they are funny for the majority of the time. But for the last hour or so it gets bad. I don't mind water...but other stuff like beer or coke getting on my clothes is NOT good. I reckon the police go too far as well. They kick out ppl for not handing over the damn beach ball for crying out loud. Its stupid and it annoys the crowd. Not that i've been to the cricket this summer...yet.

Wel not selling light beer won't do anything, what I was suprised that they were selling mixed drinks (which are 4.9% alcohol) at $6.50 a pop on Friday night, and they (the bay 13 people) were skulling them down like nobodies business.

The first thing that I would do is, to ban the sale of drinks over %3.00 alcohol, and have the right to refuse entry to those who appear drunk, and have proper bag searches and increased camera surveillence.

I was at the game and that break was really annoying because it left us with nothing to do but stare at the grass whilst these non-cricket loving ********s throw stuff around.

I know that one-day cricket for the most part attracts a younger, more working class audience and to say that they should become like a tennis crowd is unreasonable because the type of people who would go and watch the tennis, wouldn't go and see one-day cricket, but they need to be pulled into line quickly

These people are not real cricket fans. They probably have never played the game before because If they did, they would appreciate the game and want to watch quality cricket. They are just tag-along/cash-in's louts who are there for the social aspect with friends.

I feel the same about England's so called 'Barmy Army'. The last time I was at a home Test I sat through 3 hours of monotonous, tuneless 'chanting'. I asked one of them, politely, if he wouldn't mind being quite for just a few minutes (to great support from many around me) he replied "II'm just having a good time" I suggested it didn't sound like it.

You can support your team without resorting to banal and boorish behaviour.

What a crock of ****. I've sat in Bay 13 every game for the last 5 years and Im not an idiot. I go there and chant and have a ****ing unreal time.

About 10 people got kicked out of Bay 13 each one dayer, which was the same as most of the Southern Stand. I don't think some of u dicks even know where Bay 13 is. Most of the people in Bay 13 don't even know they're there. Theres about 20 regulars and none of us ever get kicked out. We swear and have fun, but to say everybody in Bay 13 is an idiot is totally ****ed

Bay 13 helps make the MCG One Dayers the most exciting cricket matches in the world

One more thing, the main problem causers are the Mexican waves. They usually start with try hard ********s in bay 12 or bay 14. And the people who are regulars in Bay 13 do not even throw beach balls. They kill them. Beach balls poke your eyes out

It was bloody demolished yrs ago..Its Gate 7 or whateva..I hope they get rid of that stupid bloody mexican wave..Its pointless and for mindless bored indivduals that try to prove to everyone they can count from 10 to 1..WOW..I must im glad im a mcc meber so i dont have to go near any of these ferrals...

Can't stand the Poms, but there's nothing wrong with singing. Throwing rubbish during the wave is a problem, but if they just want to sing they're not hurting anyone. Or should it be like the tennis where they don't play until there's complete quiet?

Look, the bottom line is that when you ruin it for other people, that is crossing the line & why should that be tolerated?? Personally, I dont have any issues with you having fun, as long as it doesnt affect my fun as well. Most people go to an event like the cricket to actually watch the game, but I understand that some people go for the social aspect, which is fine as long as people who want to see the game are able to, uninterupted, untouched, and not abused for doing so.

When people (and I'm not singling anyone out as it's only a select few idiots who ruin it for everybody) throw things in the air, why should someone else put up with it all over them??? You wouldn't accept it if I poured drink all over you in a social occasion so why would anyone else???

The plain & simple fact is that some people have abused & taken advantage of being able to do these fun things & for that they are now taken away. When will these people learn??

Ok i went to both cricket games so far in melb this year and both times i have sat in bay 13 and im not an idiot at all

The real trouble makers are the ones in like the bays around bay 13, they try so hard to live up to bay 13 but instead be idiots bout it, there are so many people who get kicked out cause the police throw them out for standing up these days, its so stupid... the police do need to settle down a bit and then maybe they wouldn't have to complain bout so many people being chucked out...

i like cricket and i watch it all the time and i care bout the result and stuff but u can't just go to the cricket for the whole match and watch it, u gotta have some fun!!!!
