BDO 2011 Rumour Thread

The BDO hasn't been cutting edge for over 10 years now

Spewing they don't have as many rock and metal bands as they use to. IMO the BDO is about bands like Tool, RATM, Rise Against, Karnivool and Mammal etc...with a mixture of good hip-hop and quality DJ's such as Calvin Harris.

Get rid of the soft alternative crap that they are dishing up nowadays, I like an adrenaline rush, not to be put asleep.

With all the other festivals these days it is basically stuffed anyway. Soundwave is getting the more cutting edge bands and is quickly becoming the alternative to the mainstream BDO.

I expect rihanna to headline in 2012

what a bunch of whingers some of you are. If you go to a BDO expecting every band to be something you like, think again. That also goes for if you think everyone at the big day out should be and act the same way you do, think again.

I, personally, dont understand all the anger about the kings of Leon. Ok, so their music has gone downhill, but their older stuff is great!! . But I went last year, i didn't give 2 shits about Lily Allen or Dizzy Rascal, and not many of my mates like this music either. To simply write off a great day out of live music, because you dont like one band..... my god!!

According to the Daily Telegraph Kings Of Leon are touring in March, which pretty much writes them off. Those easily offended by soft rock can let out a sigh of relief...

Not really. Current guesses seem to suggest Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney or Hole. logic would suggest it would have to be an "old" band, and one that isn't touring on a new record.

I was a massive fan of the previous Kings of Leon's albums and I really agree with you. It isn't like that since Only Be The Night was released they don't play these songs anymore. And Only Be The Night isn't THAT bad.

Last night on Facebook someone posted a link to Danny Clayton (the douche from Channel V)'s Twitter, with him saying something along the lines of "Blink 182 playing BDO 2011!!"

I'd be very, very happy if they don't, but it seems they may be.

Yeah I saw that. But from what I heard a while back, it's not happening. Travis still wont fly, and if they were to do a festival they'd need to be driving across the country. Not that they can't do that, but I was just told Blink aren't playing.

Time will tell I guess.
