Didn't he have an injury from the trial matches against Glenelg and Norwood? Other than that I can't see why he hasn't had a go.

No he played out the game against Glenelg. He played against Freo and was dropped after. I think its a from thing or just an excess of flankers.

they playd for sturt today and had serviable games, didnt set the house on fire...not a good enuff game for the crows heirachy to get excited about

Seems to have been a victim of circumstances. The need to try some of the youngsters, and the availability of players for the roles you would expect Begley to play in, have made it difficult to get a go.
Couldnt fit him in our best 22 at the moment, but he's a very good player, whom we will see in the side during the season. Don't be surprised once he gets in, he could be hard to displace.

Mattner's name is mentioned in the ratings for the players in the Sunday Mail ... As is Fergus Watts, who I thought was injured

The journalism standard of thr Sunday Mail is atrocious!!!

How could there be any credibility given to that article in the Sunday Mail rating the performance of each player from both teams.

Watts was given a 5 for his work in defence, and in particular his kick-ins (did not play).

Mattner was not rated as he did not spend enough time on the ground (did not play).

You guys are also forgetting that Matthew Bode got a rating despite not even being at Kadina.

And to top things off Doughty apparently wasn't playing. Were those tool from Sunday Mail at the actual game. Either I got lost and watched a game in an amateur league with players closely resembling those of Crows and Port, or Journos weren't at the game
