what a Sensational defender he has been for the Adelaide football club ever since Neil Craig place him at full back in his first game in charge he has stopped almost every key forward bar 1 or 2 he has play on from having a influence.

Very underrated player in a Darren Glass mould, who probably isnt appreciated outside of Adelaide as much as he should be.

Best of luck for the future Ben, have been a wonderful player for Adelaide over many years, including All Australian in 2005. A steal from the rookie list with pick 40 in 2001. Hopefully a bright future post AFL.

Met him a couple of times - came across as a very genuine, very decent guy.

Probably my favourite player for the Crows over the last 5 years, and very sad to see him go.

Unlucky not to get a couple more AA nods, but he was a gun - we rarely ever get beaten by the big key forwards who would destroy other teams.

Writing was on the wall a little bit but well done to the Truck. Left on his own terms and like DangerSloane said he didn't get the kudos he deserved as a KPD outside of South Australia.

Another player who has successfully made the transition from being drafted as a KPF to carving out a career as a KPD.

Good to see that he wants to continue as a coach and no doubt someone like Hartigan (next FB?) can learn a lot from him

Said on our board - Talia raves about what Truck has taught him and the influence he's had upon him.

Hopefully we can hang on to him for a year or two, but he'd be a massive, massive (and not just because he's a huge unit) asset to whoever can get their hands on him.

Very good player and in his prime was easily one of the best full backs in the game. Obviously dropped a couple of yards of pace which has hurt his effectiveness.

Very good player, I remember his first game against Freo and he kicked 3 goals from 3 kicks - maybe all in a qtr too from memory??

Developed into a beast of a Full Back, hope he gets a win in his send off game, seems to be a very team orientated bloke.

He coached me a few years back...funny bloke and was still handy well into his 40s at A grade amateurs level.
