West Coast. I think every club with the exception of Hawthorn is a contender.

Collingwood because they have two mids who will get regular games. They'll average 60-70 or so.

Sides like Richmond with 2 KP players will be useless.

Re: Best 1st and 2nd round draft picks

I think it's between Collingwood, WCE(prob my bias there) and Carlton. Jonoman89 is correct in saying teams with 2 kpp won't be so great comparatively; Melbourne will be an interesting case with 1 super talented kpp and 1 super light yet talented midfielder

Collingwood.

Because I think both will get a lot of game-time given our need for inside midfielders, and Sidebottom looks almost AFL-ready anyway. Superb kicking skills should be good for SC too. And given that he is pick 11, he should cost the lowest senior-player amount, as he is outside the top 10.

Port's are good too, though I don't know how many games Trengrove will play.

Agree. I voted for the Pies, both players are hard and AFL ready players.

A bit surprised at the amount of people voting Hartlett + Trengove and Watts + Blease.

Hartlett should play a fair few games and score reasonably because of his disposal skills but he's only skinny and wins a lot of his ball on the inside so at AFL level he ma find it a bit harder initially. Trengove is a KPP ffs who is coming off a major injury. He will be lucky to debut.

Watts and Blease are just young skinny bastards and Strauss will outscore both of them put together imo in his first year.

Rich will probably score best of all but Redden is a bit iffy for next year.

Re: Best 1st and 2nd round draft picks

Collingwood in the sense that the guys will get games, but swift and shuey are real accumulators of posessions. Shuey looks pretty ready made, and swift is just a question of hs knees. If we get our usual injury cluster f***, they might end up strining some games together.

I think Carlton will go close Yarran will play most of the year I think and mitch just seems to find the ball, he was the leading ball getter in the u18 carnival.
The next would have to be between brisbane, north and collingwood.

No Rioli in this years draft but will be interested to see shoey in the latter part of the season

I love these "Vote for your own club" polls.

Yeah I noticed it too, I think though last time I looked we (Port Adelaide) had the most unique votes, despite myself picking the Bombers

Jackson Trengove probably won't even play next year so unless those 20 who said Port Adelaide are anticipating a Hartlett first season domination, I don't see why you voted for them.

cant go past melbourne's picks even though both wont be playing much nect year becasue of VCE.

carltons picks are up there, so are port's.

I voted for the Pies as I think Sidebottom & Beams will both play around 12 - 15 games each. That combined with being midfielders with well developed bodies should see them score reasonable Supercoach points.

On another note I think that at this early stage Rich would be favourite to score the single most Supercoach points providing that he stays injury free.

Probably Carlton. Would not be surprised if Yarran wins NAB rising star award.

Essendon.

Though you'd imagine if the Sydney players got a game they'd do well for the simple fact that Sydney have a very supercoach oriented gameplan.

Watts and Blease from the Dees are both 17 right now so i doubt they will get many games (if any) in 09. in 3-4 years time this will be a dangerous combo.

but for season 09 i would go for Brisbane with the Blues next.

nah i dont think essendons picks will score well.

we tend to run the ball out of defence through a chain of handballs which means someone like hurley wouldnt be used as much, players like myers houli dempsey etc will get the ball in the back half. and thats even if hurley plays much which imo is looking unlikely, pears from all reports is having one of the best preseasons thus far at our club and is looking like sealing that third tall defensive post, at least next year.

zaharakis although a very good player i think he will be given a bit of time at bendigo, although we dont have any star midfeilders we do have a lot of average--> good midfeilders which at this stage will be selected before zaharakis so i cant see him getting games over players like houli, myers, reimers, jetta, winderlich, dyson, etc

the pair i would choose would probably be carltons i think yarran will have a big year or brisbane, i think rich will be tearing it up next year.
