It's Time!
Madtiger 2006 has got me into this incredible group.
Brian Augurs Oblivion Express.
First album they made is ****ing awesome like Deep Purple meets The Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Busy,heavy but jazzy.
But the one that pitches my tent is the album Straight Ahead.
Think of those beautiful Steve Wright(PF) string sounds on Shine on and Animals,a relaxed straight but jazzy beat and oodles of rhodes piano.
This album has gone straight to number one in my estimation as far as chill goes.
First 2 songs are worth the admission price.
2 jazzy slow funky numbers, instrumentals that go for 9 mins plus and you wish they went for more.
The 3rd song is a cheesy one.
4th song Straight On is a funky funky jazz rocker-lovely rhodes solo.
5th song sounds like Santana,a bit hit and miss but still nice.
Lyrics still lost in the hippy era.
First 2 songs though are all time classics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Forgot to tell you about the production.
Fantastic.
Beautifully recorded record.
Separation of the instruments is fantastic.
The recording breathes.
