Being preseason and not having much football news to read or think about, I got thinking about who are or have been the best players wearing each number and the result is the list below.
I built it mainly from memory and using the Eagles website’s past players section. However the website has some wrong information. For example it shows:
Mitchell White as 47, when I remember it was a lower number, 15 I believe but I am not sure.
John Worsfold as 24, when he had 29.
Dean Kemp as 33 when I am sure he ran around with 2 on his back.
Ashley McIntosh was shown as 53. since I cannot remember his real number I haven’t got him on the list. Would someone who remembers his number help?
I reckon that perhaps the website shows the first number issued to the player, not the number he used for most of his career.
The numbers for Brett Heady and Fraser Gehrig are the numbers shown on the website, and although they look wrong to me I cannot recall what numbers they had while playing. Input from other posters will be welcome.
The list is also my opinion based on my recollection of the numbers, so it’s subject to change with further knowledge.
