Fair enough, I can see you lack the brains to have a proper discussion. Fine by me.

Wood is no doubt an excellent player who has really come on in the last two seasons but I think you are underrating Rioli a fair bit.

Rioli is a 3 x All Australian and Norm Smith Medallist. Rioli has been top 5-6 in the B&F (of a champion side) something like 7 times - including his debut year in a premiership side.

If not for injury cutting short some of his best seasons, Rioli would likely have been AA at least 5 times by now.

Wood only made the AA squad for the first time in 2015 (after 8 seasons)!

Also, stats are not everything. Breusts' stats are better than Rioli's for example (and Breust kicks 50 odd goals every year) and every single Hawthorn fan will tell you that Rioli is easily the better and more impactful player.

His ability to beat multiple players, get the ball when he has no right to, get out of outnnumbered and outpositioned situations, tackling, pressure and clever tap ons that don't count as stats all add up to a player better than a stat sheet suggests. He doesn't need to run around the back of a pack collecting extra handballs (or do dinky 1-2's) like so many others to be a star.

I have no problem with people considering ance better. I'm just arguing that it's a close thing.

And no, it's not delusion to suggest Hooker is better. They're two excellent key defender; probably the two best in the AFL. Considering them very close to equal is far from being "a deluded kool aider". Tugger fans seem to be vulnerable like that for some reason.
Rance is the better key defender IMO and it's not a big gap between them but what Hooker's got over Rance is that he's got the ability to play impact as a forward as well. Kicked 20 goals in the last 10 games of 2015 so he's proven that he can swing forward to good effect. Think he and Daniher are going to complement each other well this year as the two key forwards despite their interrupted pre-seasons but I also like the smalls you'll have at your disposal as well in Fantasia (one of the best young small forwards IMO), AMT, Colyer and Green. I'll try not to go slightly off topic anymore but I think you could generate a real spread of goal kickers with those players.

The players voted Rance 7th in the AFLMVP for 2016. Who was the last KPD to crack the top 10? The players certainly feel he's the outright best
Outright best or outright best performed in 2016?

Rance's 2016 was way overhyped imo. The commentators gush every time he goes near the footy.

Rance 2015 > Rance 2016. Same offensive output but in 2015 he regularly destroyed his opponent instead of conceding a couple 2 goals a game.

The level he's playing at, in 2016. I don't know the results, but if I had to guess I could think only maybe Scarlett would have cracked top 10 in that award for KPDs if he even has at all. Have any other KPDs? It's a measure of an individual season but it shows that on the most recent exposed form we have he's viewed as the outright best from the players, and I'm quite sure he polled the most coaches votes for a KPD in 2016 too.

I agree his 2015 was better, but in a lot of the awards by coaches and players they have his 2016 year ahead.

Because the media have a massive influence on how a player is rated. Especially on defenders. Case in point was Darren Glass's was made AA captian in a season where he played as a 2nd/3rd tall and 80% of his possesion were 15m sideways kicks or short handballs.

Not saying Rance is not a great defender. No key defender in the league can match him for form over the past 3 seasons. I just think Rance is the only defender in the league where commentators will still laud him as a star if his opponent hits the scoreboard.

Probably right
Love danger but I've seen Cyril influence more big games

Cyrils also had a lot more opportunities to influence big games whilst playing in one of the best teams in history.

Trade Danger for Cyril in 2011 and Hawthorn would have won 5 in a row.

Superstar no doubt but Danger has him covered...

Maybe
Danger certainly has Cyril covered for volume which is not always a good thing
Would danger have shined as brightly in a champion team?
Danger played a similar role early in his career for similar return

Would hawthorn have won 5 premership drafting danger over cyril.

2008 with out cyril? I think we may have lost. Cyril was really important that game.

2011 with danger? 50/50
2012 with danger? We probably win this one.
2016 with danger but no cyril? Hmmmm.

* i rate danger first i just like thinking about hawks premerships.
