best no.1 draft pick

Who do you think is or has shown that he will be the best no.1 draft pick?

IMO Riewoldt is so far, but I believe that both gibbs or kreuzer could over take him by the end of their careers.

So what are your thoughts?

You're right actually. Just get a bit carried away when Richmond/Carlton supporters rate their improvers higher than proven guns.

Riewoldt clearly. End of their careers? Riewoldt clearly.

If he goes down St Kildas season has been derailed. The same can't be said of the other players. Sure It'd affect the team but nowhere near as much as if Riewoldt went down. He's arguably the most important player in the league.

I ranked them ahead because Murphy, Gibbs and Deledio didn't take about 6 years to become good players. And even now Goddard isn't that much better. I rate Murphy, Deledio and Gibbs' career ahead of Goddards at the moment.

But on current playing ability Goddard would probably be number 1.

Reiwoldt is easily the pic of the lot, and will remain so.

Cooney or Gibbs may overtake him, but i seriously doubt it.
Watts could too, but its way too early to tell with him.

And I'm biased, but I think Goddard is only gonna get better, and I'm lovin it cos he's only 24... Sure he didn't start playing decent footy till he was 22, but that's cos we had a ******* coach trying to turn him into a KPB.

Roo clearly. No other player in this list has and will ever be the difference between making the finals and not making the finals.

An Goddard second by a fair margin to Cooney. Goddard has been the Saints next best player for last 3-4 years even after a knee reconstruction in that period.

The Brownlow is not the best guide to judge a player on. Having said that having Murphy above Cooney in a section you've titled "ranking so far" is ridiculous.
