There may be better its hard to say.
Recently for me maybe Ablett V Sydney at Skilled early in 2008.
It was the last Quarter and Ablett kicked 3 when the game was very close and also dominated the middle to win the game single handedly.
250+ supercoach points for that game.

It's one I say with a heavy heart

Stuart Dew in the 3rd quarter of the 2008 grand final. It was roughly only 5 minutes of actual play but he was involed in 4 goals, kicking two himself. In my opinion as a sad Geelong supporter in the stands that day, he won them the game.

Just watch and Enjoy, or if your a Geelong fan like me get the tissues....

yeah that judd game was great.

kerr has had some insane quarters...vs geelong 2006 round 10 final qtr was one of his best.

scott lucas vs west coast round 22 2007 cost us a top 2 spot and probably (bloody likely) a place in the grand final. it would've been port at home (win) and then north at home (100 pt win). would've lost to geelong with our injuries though.

damn scott lucas.

Drew Petrie's 6 goals in the first quarter of Arch's 300th.

I actually had 4 immediate games in mind - Judd, Ablett v Swans 08, Petrie as above and Gary Ablett Snr in the Night game of 20 years ago v Carlton 3rd quarter. So maybe I was on the right track by the above. Carey had one or two as well from memory.

Hird vs West Coast 2004, 4th quarter.

15 disposals, 2 goals and one of the most memorable and iconic moments I've ever witnessed in football. A true champion effort from an absolute champion player. Call it bias if you wish, but there is no way I can look past this.

This thread has made me put the game on now! :thumbsu:

Take your pick of any one of a dozen quarters that Carey produced.

Jess Sinclairs first quarter v Essendon in the comeback match in 2001.

Malcolm Blights 3 goals in time on v Carlton back in the 1976.

James Hird, 4th Quarter vs WCE. Everyone has seen it.. no need to elaborate.
Matthew Lloyd: (1st Quarter, Round 1 2006 vs Sydney). Boots 6 goals and ends the game.

lucas's last quarter against wce. kicked 7 and missed what probably was the easiest one. and i remember lloyd kicking 6 in the first quarter twice against sydney, round 3 1999 and round 1 2006.

That game pissed me off immensely, but yeah that was a legendary effort.

Yeah, we should have actually beaten Port away, we were the better side on the night and led for most of it if I recall, then Cuz did his hammy and it all went downhill from there. Should've beat Collingwood too, that was a soft loss.

Yeah definitely deserved another grand final appearance, but Geelong were a touch better even if we had a fully fit Judd + Cousins, especially at the G. At Subi we'd win. I'm kind of glad we didn't make it though, it would have been 2 grand final losses in three years.

West Bulldogs vs Adelaide in 1997 prelim final - Libba thinks he has kicked the sealing goal - wait a sec, it went a bit too right. Then Darren Jarman takes over - rest is history.

Collingwood vs Adelaide R2, 2005 - McLeod's amazing goal. Crows go on to win by 6 and end a long losing streak against their bogey side.

Geelong vs West Coast in 2006.... Eagles fought their way back from a huge deficit to win by 3 points and pretty much end the season of a struggling Geelong side. Ben Cousins was so exhausted he could hardly breathe after the game. Daniel Kerr was huge in the 4th quarter fightback. One of the best games I've ever seen.

St Kilda vs Geelong in 2009 Grand Final = Geelong's fightback, Chapman Goal.

Collingwood vs Brisbane in 2002 Grand Final = Voss and Buckley at their very best in a heroic final quarter.

James Hird kicking (I think 6 goals) vs the Eagles early in 2004 including a tiebreaking goal late in the game to get Essendon over the line in a game for the ages. He hugs a woman in the crowd after the goal.

2005 Semi Final, Nick Davis kicking 4 goals to get Sydney over the line. Geelong were so dejected after the game it took them 2 years to recover.

Richmond vs Western Bulldogs in 2001, Richmond comes from behind to win by 2 points to seal a Finals spot.

Don't remember that one? Can you elaborate?

11pts down at 3 qtr time, Pagan puts it to Carey to lift the side and he went out and destroyed them. With 3 opponents at the one time (Watson Kickett & Harvey). We ended up kicking 8.8 to 1 goal in the last quarter to win by 38pts.

The only more dominant qtr I've seen him play was against Melbourne in 1996.

Had 15 touches and kicked 2 in the last quarter (34 and 3goals for the match), and hugged a guy in the crowd, was certainly a brilliant quarter though.

Coming the week after the umpiring controversy was still suprising he didn't get a single Browlow vote :thumbsd:

CO; Blueseum

...Essendon held a four-point lead at quarter-time that day, before a human cyclone in navy blue number 25 tore the game from the Bombers’ grasp in a few unbelievable minutes. A contemporary report from the game said; ‘In just eleven minutes in the second quarter, Carlton wizard Alex Jesaulenko kicked six goals in a show-stopping demonstration of football magic.’

‘Few, if any, more devastating bursts of play have been seen in the long history of football at Princes Park. Essendon players literally seemed to be mesmerised by Jesaulenko, as he flew, wriggled, jinked, dodged, escaped and wove his way through packs of parked Bombers, as if he were Houdini himself. Jezza also gave away another couple of goals (to David McKay and Brent Crosswell) in the Blues total of 12 straight for the quarter.’

6 goals, gave 2 more off and 20-odd possessions...
