Bevo rolled the dice at the selection table and made 5 bold changes. Scott hid under the selection table and made zero changes to a team that's won 2 of its last 11 and is totally devoid of spunk and confidence.

Bevo had the players believing "anythings possible" whereas our players have been told "we don't think youre up to it" and we need an "aggressive reset".

And I shudder to think what 2017 holds with Boomer gone and possibly Wells. What a one-paced, unimaginative midfield that would leave us with. Amazing decisions being made by a group of guys who 3 months ago thought they had all the answers......

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”.

This might have been relevant had we not had injuries and still stunk it up, but I don't like the Dish playing after he spudded it up on a weekly basis and the Maj dropping, reward form not friendships or a misguided idea that you need to give them a farewell game.
Bevo picked his best players that were coming back off injury and rolled the dice on their fitness and stringers ability to perform.

Oh dear, thread reeks of jealousy and envy. You could have done Brad vs any 10 other coaches, with a similar narrative

1st paragraph, full of shit.

Next paragraph has merit.

Strange call Fish. Or at least a strange example to use of why you rate Bevo above Brad.
I reckon Ryan Clarke is the only fit player who you could say with any confidence could come in and improve the 22 selected. And he's hardly proven.

I'm personally glad Brad didn't make changes just for the sake of it.

Imagine the meltdown with w80 bursting a hip valve in the first 20 minutes.

The only thing that shit me was our misguided belief that w80 was fitt-ish to play.

Watching last night's game I kept thinking that changes to our list need to focus on getting more run all over the ground. The bulldogs ran and ran and then ran some more to create options and apply pressure from start to finish; our current list and team structure doesn't allow that. I hope this is what our reset will be all about

The more concerning comparison is the difference in treatment of under-performing players.

There is no way Brad would even contemplate dropping Stringer.

Poor performance is acceptable at North. It is not at Footscray.

But then some tv show were pointing out that to beat Crows you need to slow it up...they Rebound off turnovers and goal.

Horses for courses.

Bulldogs list is full of talent even with their injuries.

Good on them.

Our list looks like a stale piece of white bread in comparison.
Yet we have made the last two prelims.

So is Brad a good coach or not?

I think he is a good coach who has had the benefit of the best possible finals draw the last two years.

I'm not sure he could have coached the game Beverage did last night though.

So you have bought into the opposition narrative that we 'lucked' into those prelims. What a crock of shit.

do people actually see who the places came in and who went out of the bulldogs team? They were clearly fit enough to come in whereas north's 2 players weren't so not sure who people expected to come into the team.
Yep, or we could go with... The north players didn't get right in time, must be Brads fault... Bye bye Brad..

Damn i wish we picked up caleb daniel. Would ease the boomer loss a little more.

Too logical.
I know a bloke who works in development at South Adelaide. Prior to the draft in Daniel's draft year I asked him if he had any likely types. He said he had one of the best juniors in the country but most clubs won't touch him - reckons there's a blanket policy at some clubs that unless you're at least 180cm, they're not drafting you. Went at pick 46. There's always wisdom in hindsight but I think a few would like there picks over in that draft

The selection comparison is strange considering Brad has form for picking unfit players which has hurt us, I for one am glad we are not rolling the dice on that and backing in the fit players to get the job done.

Where I do see a difference is how Beveridge can seem to get his players fired up and prepared to constantly work hard and take hits for each other. We too often appear lackluster and meek, whether start of game or switch off during which really hurts us. Whether that is Brad or the leadership groups fault I'm not certain.

Will be interesting to see how manic we are tomorrow night - I'd like to see an uncompromisingly tough performance by all those selected whether win or lose due to the talent we have out :thumbsu:
