Jul 9, 2001. Was quite active early, then things like kids/life happened (plus I worked for the AFL industry for a while and it was all a bit much so I took a long break). In 2022 I jumped on to see what people were saying/thinking/talking about, during those heady days of the 'Clarko-to-North' adventure. Many of the familiar avatars/user names from the early 2000s I recognised and are still here going strong. :)

12 June 2000. Armed with my new AOL subscription I started searching for some like minded North supporters , a new family. People may recall that North had a forum on their website back then, unmoderated, and it was a cesspool of whingers and complainers and, remember, we were reigning premiers! That family was totally dysfunctional so I searched further and found Bigfooty. We'd just beaten the Swans and the first post I saw was the venerable Shinboners having a polite chat with respected Swans supporter, Blood Stained Angel, well I barged in with a "nyah nyah we beat you and you suck" type post to BSA and I was totally ignored and I thought "Oh I get it this is different",been here ever since. Don't post as much but always watching, always watching.

The day Brad Scott was appointed, googling to find out more about him as coach. Go through periods when I hardly post, then other times when I am more regular. Lol, I generally post more when the rest of my life is a bit shit

March 2001 and I was also on the other forum before that - was it roaming kangaroo? Too long ago and I’m too old. I do remember it was before wifi connection to the internet at home and I had to unplug my work computer to chat on here. Have never left, modded for a while in 2007, prefer being just a contributor and still going strong. I was in a newish relationship with no kids back then, and we just celebrated 26 years together (might not have made it if I’d stayed moderating) and our older son is out of home and teaching.

After the Grand Final in 2004.

My best mate at the time was a Port fan who was desperate to find out if rumours that Josh Carr was going to Freo were true. I searched the internet, found BigFooty thread about it, and signed up.

A bit like Sgt Pepper’s. It was 20 years ago today (well two days ago..).
I’d been a reader for a couple of years before joining. Carey discussions at the beginning and the GC saga soon after.
Don’t post that often but read most days. And have no one on ignore as I love madness of all our posters-whether they’ve lived in a monastery, sign off with a signature or don’t rate Bailey Scott :)

Searching Kangaroo I think?

Statutes probably expired so...

I can admit now it was me on the North site forum who troll announced Rick Olarenshaw's retirement a couple of weeks into the season because he'd already broken down.

Unsurprisingly not long after he really did retire midseason after playing 1 quarter for the club.

We paid pick #37 for a guy every one already knew was an aging broken down hack.

Fortunately those days are behind us and we now nail all our experienced player trades and valuations.
