No it isn't his strength but it is understandable that they gave him a few goes at it as he the selectors really wanted that batting allrounder than could offer 10-15 overs of decent seam bowling for team balance. After Watson retired, MMarsh was the only real option. He does have the tools and has scored some good centuries at the level but not consistent enough.I think Marsh is a good selection for white ball cricket, especially T20.
But Test match cricket, isn't his go.

In the ****ing Poms colours, sooner we fix our flag the betterIf you type 'Cricket Australia' into Google at the moment it will display fireworks
No this isn't a Rick Roll either![]()
Not sure Cam Green should ever be picked for Aus again after this.

Why ? One of our best bastmen in the previous ashes in Australia. But hard to see him getting past greenI think Marsh is a good selection for white ball cricket, especially T20.

He doesn't have the temperament for the long form. All well and good to have a good summer here on Australian decks but you've gotta be able to go to India on a onion field and grind out an innings. Or England when the ball is swinging, and be able to grit out a partnership. Why ? One of our best bastmen in the previous ashes in Australia. But hard to see him getting past green
Mitch Marsh is actually handy in English conditions for his bowling. He hoops it around a fair bit. The 5th Test at The Oval in the last series he did really well with the ball from memory. He doesn't have the temperament for the long form. You're example is perfect, Green is the perfect test up and comer. He's a guy you'd be confident taking to England.
This is brilliant, we were dreadful in T20s before this cup.
I think Hazelwood's contribution has been overlooked somewhat. 3/16 in the final, wow!All turned around due to three players: Warner, Zampa and Marsh.
Warner re-found his mojo at the crease and gave a reminder of how good he is - got runs individually, but also dictated the terms of how the innings would be played.
Zampa has become the best defensive bowler in T20 cricket, particularly during the post-powerplay overs. It means opponents are not able to get away, even when they have wickets in hand.
Marsh going to three has been a revelation. Typically comes in against pace during the powerplay, which suits his strengths, and the long batting line-up beneath him provides the confidence to play without any reservation.
If Starc had a variation ball that he could reliably go to when he fails to generate swing then the resultant chase would have been completed inside of 15 overs.
Reckon Langer will feel justifiably vindicated after that success. The Semi-final and Final in particular showed the difficulty for opponents in containing a Warner-Marsh partnership, where one feasts on spin and the other gorges on pace.
It’s also come with out Finch, Smith and Maxi all out of form as well. All turned around due to three players: Warner, Zampa and Marsh.
