Batting first with no scoreboard pressure helps players who like to give it a whack.Incredible how spudly Brown looked the other night vs Sixers. Now looking like Chris Gayle

He's a jet white ball bowler.Spencer Johnson bowls faster than Lance Morris, and with more shape. I know I’m supposed to back the WA boy, but I’d love to see Johnson play a test.

What Tugga said. Also Johnsons played a combined 11 list A/first class games and way to premature to be called as a red ball players.Spencer Johnson bowls faster than Lance Morris, and with more shape. I know I’m supposed to back the WA boy, but I’d love to see Johnson play a test.

We'll have retention rights on him in the draft so if he plays BBL itll be for usIf stoinis does come in next year will be quite formidable side when the test stars come back in.
Stoinis
Inglis
Marsh
Hardie
Green
Turner
Thats a world class top 6 with a very good bowling attack. I wonder if we can get Evans back but I feel like a side will end up landing him
Don't even need StoinisIf stoinis does come in next year will be quite formidable side when the test stars come back in.

Is it still a very good bowling attack though? A lot will depend on whether Richardson can get back to his best and what we do with AgarIf stoinis does come in next year will be quite formidable side when the test stars come back in.

I play with a guy who used to captain Spencer Johnson in district cricket when he was younger. He says he was the most frustrating player he'd ever captained - all the talent but you never knew if he'd bowl at 140 or 110, just depended what mood he was in that day.On Johnson it’s time he really starts playing a lot more redball cricket, as Impressive as he has been he’ll be 29 when next summer rolls ararounds.
Come off it mate bandcroft averaging 25 @SR of 114 opening the batting is pretty poor considering the thunder over paid massively for him .Scorchers post mortem;
1. Someone buggered up our salary cap. How the hell was Bancroft allowed to leave?
2. If the answer to 1. is we signed Cam Green who then withdraw from the tournament then that is more than frustrating. I heard a story that when the WA Shield team were in Brisbane recently Voges stayed behind in Perth because he was left scrambling to fill out our roster.
3. Not enough from our big money import Crawley. Contributed to the worst opening combinations in Scorcher history. Connolly experiment failed, Whiteman has never been a T20 player, Eskinazi is just garbage (couldn't believe we re-signed him)
4. Turner. Absolute gut punch to lose him. Got us out jail a few times last season. His leadership was arguably even more important.
5. Richardson.Give it up mate you're cooked. The Liam Ryan of WA cricket. Get Paris back for the Scorchers. Give Haskett a run in red ball cricket.
6. Agar. Speaking of cooked this bloke was playing white ball cricket for Australia a few months ago and now gets tonked by park cricketers. Someone on here mentioned we desperately needed a legspinner. Touche. I think we're gonna have to poach one.
7. Evans. Our best player. This has been mentioned before but why the * do you sign someone who then has to leave right at the business end of the tournament?
8. Morris. What the hell happened in the last couple of games?
9. Gonna soon need a replacement for Tye, who's still decent but about 53 years old. Hopefully Matt Kelly is over his injuries.
10. Connolly (batting down the order) gives me some hope for the future. Learned a few tough lessons this season but will be better for it.
YesIs it still a very good bowling attack though? A lot will depend on whether Richardson can get back to his best and what we do with Agar
Bancroft was a massive out for us.Come off it mate bandcroft averaging 25 @SR of 114 opening the batting is pretty poor considering the thunder over paid massively for him .
Agree with a lot of the other stuff .
Agar had a terrible tournament but most others were also down on the last few yearsb
Recon we need Inglis to open then find an an import to open with him that can play more games . Maybe evans up the order and getting turner back .
I thought we missed hatsolglu this year . His bowling is under rated . Genuine wicket taker although he gets pumped occasionally
Fanning hit some nice balls but was also beaten so many times .Bancroft was a massive out for us.
He fell away towards the end of the tournament but still
scored 230 runs.
He's a jet fielder also.
We were pretty much 2 for nothing every time Whiteman and Eskers opened.
How it took Voges until the last game to give Fanning a crack was bewildering to say the least.
Don't know how he could've been offered "way more than he deserves" as he won the player of the year award last year.Fanning hit some nice balls but was also beaten so many times .
Eski should be gone no question 2 seasons of struggling .
It was reported that Bancroft was offered way more than he deserves and we weren't going to match ridiculous offers .
25 is a reasonable average for Bancroft but SR of 114 ?
Bancroft can GAGF the cheating flogIt's rumoured money wasn't the only reason why he left.
